Game’s Dogma

Chapter 273: Bestial God

In that futuristic room, the pair of male and female remained seated on their levitating chairs with troubled looks. They looked at the silver section of the supposedly blue wall.

The male mumbled, “This is why the Dominator has to eliminate all Drifters… A single Drifter can bring about unpredictable dangers to the system, just like a virus…”

The two could only wait for the man to bring the Drifter away. Seconds passed by like painful years. Finally, silver faded from the wall along with the red spot. The room was now back in its usual blue.

A man and lady hovered in the sky like deities.

“Little Hagrid, are you sure this is fine?”

“How can one toughen up without tempering? My brother has extraordinary potential, but he lacks proper tempering and is way too soft-hearted. I still believe that one day, he’ll become full-fledged. Even if I interfere… what good will it do for me?” Hagrid then murmured, “This is your world, sort it out on your own. I’m just here to pick up my lady.”

“Bluey, let’s go,” said Hagrid as the dragon brand on his finger glowed. He hugged Stygien and looked at her with loving eyes. “Stygien, we’ll never be apart again.”

“Mhm,” Stygien replied in an almost inaudible voice.

“Off we go!” The summoned silver dragon growled and took off with the two on its back. An amethyst portal appeared in the sky, revealing countless black holes and an endless void. The two humans and dragon vanished into the portal, which closed shortly after they went in.

After a good while, space distorted. A vague figure stared at where Hagrid and Stygien had been hovering. It mumbled, “Hagrid Leos, is it… An intriguing guy…”

The moment Hagrid disappeared, Drako Yau was bombarded by a barrage of system notifications.

“System error, quest cancelled.”

“Operations in progress…”

“Reading player inventory. Updating…”

“Unknown items identified, appraisal in progress…”

“Appraisal complete. Commencing update.”

“Updating player information… Update complete.”

“Ding! Ding! Ding! Ding! Ding! Ding! Ding! Ding! Ding! Ding! Ding! Ding…”

“You have obtained an epic item, Feral Rage Helmet.”

“You have obtained an epic item, Feral Rage Chestplate.”

“You have obtained an epic item, Feral Rage Gauntlets.”

“You have obtained an epic item, Feral Rage Greaves.”

“You have obtained an epic item, Feral Rage Boots.”

“You have obtained the legendary item, Divine Martial Sword.”

“You have obtained the legendary item, Beastial God’s Contract.”

“You have obtained the legendary item, Divine Dragon Jade.”

“You have obtained the legendary item, Crimson Bladed Curved Jade.”

“You have obtained the legendary item, Hallowed Martial Sword.”

Drako Yau’s jaws dropped to the ground. When did legendary items become so common!

Greenstone was also stupefied when he saw the notification, “You have obtained the legendary skill book, Tai Chi.”

The two looked at their maps to find that they were in a forest on the Highlands of John. Chau Yu also regained consciousness after Hagrid left. He glanced at Drako Yau and Greenstone and stayed silent before turning his gaze to the former.

“We will settle things once and for all one day.” Chau Yu left those words behind and left using a Return-to-City Scroll.

Drako Yau and Greenstone weren’t in a hurry to leave. They sat down below a tree nearby and started looking through the items they received. As they trusted one another, they could exchange information unreservedly.

Deep down, Drako Yau was gradually understanding the laws of this world. His Cryoflame style, Frost Form, and Flame Form weren’t considered by the system as buffs, but could the system convert such intangible things into concrete numbers in the first place? They were even considered weak based on the system’s standards.

Drako Yau shared his thoughts with Greenstone. Greenstone nodded in agreement as he said, “The Three Treasures Integration style was categorised by the system as an ‘internal enhancement’, but my internal force consumption has lowered ever since I started cultivating it.”

“Guess we shouldn’t believe the system blindly.”

The two players’ visions were gradually exceeding the scope of the game and its system.

Having received the Feral Rage set, Drako Yau no longer had to purchase a new set when he reached Level 35. He also had plans in mind for the legendary Divine Martial Sword.

As for the scroll…

“Beastial God’s Contract: A contract drafted by the bestial god himself, it has the power to bond with all beasts in the universe. Choose a demonic beast and seal the contract once the below conditions are fulfilled:

1. The player and the demonic beast must enter the contract willingly.

2. When entering the contract, the demonic beast cannot be more powerful than the player.”

Hagrid drew this contract… It’s the Beastial God’s Contract… Doesn’t that imply Hagrid’s the bestial god? Just what kind of person did I become a brother with! Drako Yau was left speechless, but he shook it off his mind with a laugh and continued to check the other items.

“Divine Dragon Jade: A divine jade bearing the true dragon’s strength. It is said that one can comprehend and gain the divine dragon’s powers from the jade, but its effects are unknown.”

“Crimson Bladed Curved Jade: A growth-type divine item from the mysterious forbidden zone ‘Yellowstream Jadefall’.”

The Crimson Bladed Curved Jade was for Bloodless Bladester. What surprised Drako Yau the most was that the fingertip-sized jade was a weapon, but he didn’t look into it.

All legendary items bonded with their masters, which meant once they were equipped, they would never leave unless their masters deleted the account, or died in Tigeroar’s case. However, Tigeroar was the only Maverick Drako Yau had ever met, or so he thought. The golden-haired Zeus was also a Maverick, but that he was something he didn’t know.”

“Hallowed Martial Sword: A hallowed sword with ancient Daoism origins, it has the power to exorcise demons and even the world.”

This sword was Chan Ka Lok’s reward.

How generous, Drako Yau thought. The legendary items Hagrid gave them only got better and better. Deep down, he was a bit jealous. When can I have my own legendary weapon?

While Drako Yau had seen the item descriptions, he didn’t know the weapons’ attributes, effects, and skills as they were only visible when equipped. Without any hesitation, he mailed the three items to Bloodless Bladester, Yim Ho, and Chan Ka Lok respectively; they all deserved their rewards, and he wasn’t going to stoop so low and keep those items for himself.
