Furry Ears, His Unknown Brother's Identity

As the wind was blowing slightly on the cold Saturday, Shao Liling tightened her grip on the summer straw hat as she was too embarrassed to face anyone in this kind of an attire as people were giving her weird looks, wondering why someone was wearing such a clothing in this kind of a weather.

Teens were gossiping seeing the latest and the most expensive summer dress released by one of the most popular fashion brands a few months back when it was still hot, the appropriate kind of weather for her to wear the dress out.

But since it was such an important occasion for Shao Liling, as said by her sister, she HAD to wear it in respect for her now late, singleness, also said by the annoying Shao Liqin.

She took a step forward as the wind continued pushing her feathery dress back and it was hard walking deu to the weather, who was opposing her.

She wore a knee length summery dress with flower patterns around her chest and a shining material covering her legs as it was thin but heavy at the same time. Shao Liling was considered typically tall for her age but curse Liu Shan for whatever he ate to make him so tall, that she appears like a nail beside him.

Both the Shao sisters stayed up till midnight getting Shao Liling ready for tomorrow, but dark circles which formed beneath both of their eyes were covered from some of Shao Liqin's concealer.

Arguments were mostly what kept them entertained throughout the dressing up process as Shao Liqin chose more and more of bright, shiny colored pieces of clothing, completely despised by Shao Liling as both of them argued about the smallest thing continuously and two extra hours were wasted from just what color of nail polish Shao Liling should wear

As Shao Liling walked down the pavement, she realizes she didn't know where to go as panic rose in her heart for being too stupid. Shao Liling stared left and right and tried to wrack through her brain to anything that would lead to Ye MinFeng.

'Ugh, how stupid could I be to actually forget to ask which café!'

She was having a nervous breakdown as she could not believe she forgot asking about the most important thing in this date.

As she closed her eyes in despair, a light bulb suddenly switched on in her brain as she remembered the small piece of paper given to her with hundred percent possibility that it was his number and thanked heavens that she decided to bring the change she put in the plastic bag yesterday in the small purple clutch she carried in her right hand. As she dug in the small clutch, she got the paper, flat in between the money as Shao Liling heaved a breath of relief with the realization that she wasn't as stupid as she thought earlier.

She copied the number from the note to her phone as she messaged him,

'Hey! It's me from yesterday! I'm so sorry but I forgot to ask which café should I show up to yesterday since I was in a hurry. Could you tell me the location please?'

(Three minutes of wait later)

'Oh, I just finished working for the day, you can come to the Sarang café down the Video Game shop, just walk straight and a café will be in front'

Shao Liling read the text as she texted him back a 'ok!' and walked back since the way was from the other side of the street.

As Shao Liling walked, she passed the Video Game shop and peered inside to see if Ye MinFeng still inside but some other guy was behind the counter. Shao Liling shrugged thinking he already left as she turned around to continue her way as she bumped in a chest, a person who directly stood behind her.

Shao Liling lifted her head to say sorry as she backed away but realized it was Ye MinFeng, clad in a long trench coat with black pants and a simple gray sweater underneath, he also had on a small hat around his head which made him look.....

'Sophisticated'

Shao Liling thought to herself as she moved her gaze from his to hers as she realized they both dressed completely differently, she, in a colorful summery dress as he stood there with an autumnal look, both of them completely contrasting.

Ye MinFeng smiled slowly to her as she seem to check him out which he did not mind one bit. Shao Liling didn't return the smile as it was rare for her to do so unless it was special for ???????????? as in not in the opinion of her younger sister.

She stood there as she motioned towards the direction of the café as she walked without a word leaving her mouth.

"Oh, hey! I see you look....a bit different....but it looks good on you!"

"You too"

Shao Liling replied nonchalantly but her heart was hammering in her chest like a drum but tried concealing it with a calm look on her face, but was still known from her facade as Ye MinFeng smirked to himself as he saw her trying to act tough and unmoved in front of him.

They soon reached the café as they entered and sat near a window, admiring the calming wind hollowing outside.

There was a moment of silence as both of them did not know how to continue conversing.

'Girrr~'

Ye MinFend casted Shao Liling a surprised look but let out a laugh as he saw her grim expression but rosy blush covering her cheeks in embarrassment.

She just had to ruin the moment from her rumbling stomach as she cursed Shao Liqin in her mind as she was the one who suggested for her to not eat anything because she said it'll make Shao Liling's cheeks look puffed up.

"You seem like you haven't had lunch, should we order some desserts also?"

"There's no need for that, I'm sorry for this kind of a behavior on a date"

Three plates of Chocolate brownies stood on each other as the brownies were gobbled down by a monster.

The monster, who was Shao Liling.

She was having trouble looking towards anything else other than the cake which was in front of Ye MinFeng as he ate it slowly, savoring each bite like some sacred delicacy with a bit of the chocolate on the sides of his mouth as Shao Liling was drooling slightly watching the two delicious treats in front of her as she gulped down some saliva, which was just produced in her mouth.

Ye MinFeng was trying hard not to lose his cool in front of the beautiful girl as he saw her looking at him with thirsty eyes, or more specifically, towards the cake.

He couldn't endure the glance fixated in his direction for a couple of minutes and ordered three more brownies.

Shao Liling was shocked he could eat three more but soon ate all of it when he told her he ordered them for her, without any second of stopping.

He had assumed she might be hungry, to the point her stomach rumbled like a bulldozer but needless to say help her eat it to if she can't finish all three.

As he had assumed, all three brownies disappeared right before his eyes as he left out a chuckle from seeing Shao Liling who had a cute smile on her face with the satisfaction of having her stomach full.

And then, ten minutes passes.

They couldn't handle the endearing silence as they decided to leave and Ye MinFeng didn't let her pay as he said it was important for the gentleman to pay for a meal.

Shao Liling stifled a giggle as she saw him acting all tough in front of her as they stepped outside the café together.

Shao Liling and Ye MinFeng were caught off guard as a strong gust of wind swept towards their way and lifted of both their hats.

Shao Liling turned sideways towards MinFeng as she couldn't handle the wind directly in her face as her hat fell down and caught it just in time. Seeing Ye MinFeng's hat also on the ground, she lifted his hat as she faced Ye MinFeng.

MinFeng was all panicky as he took the hat away from her hands as she saw him trying to adjust the hat on his head perfectly.

Shao Liling wanted to help him as she was about to cast up her hand but stopped halfway as she saw two sets of black furry little things poking from his head. It was not that noticeable but since they were both quite really close two each other, she could tell that it was a set of animal ears as it was slightly darker than in comparison to his dark brown hair.

Once Ye MinFeng noticed her staring at his head with her hand stopping halfway, he hastily put the hat and then with slight hesitation he said,

"Umm, I gotta go, I forgot I had something to do, see you later"

Ye MinFeng escaped from Shao Liling's reach and went fast towards the Gaming Shop as he felt vulnerable and exposed in front of her as he tried best not to burst into tears. He has been able to endure it till to this day, for a long time, but what happened today that he seemed to not be able to control his emotions and let it out like a tidal wave?

She sat on her bed, dumbfounded. And stupefied.

Shao Liling was dumbfounded because she did not expect her date to have ears, like an animal. And stupid, because she wasn't able to ask him what had happened when she saw his face full of raw emotions speaking louder than any words they've exchanged so far in the past day.

What she clearly saw was written all over his face was...

Sadness, anger, anxiety, and...fear.

It seemed like a dream that at one moment, they both were completely fine, eating brownies, and next, everything was a mess. It came like a crash as both of them stood, with completely different emotions, contrasting each other.

She thought it might be a new start for her, but now both of them were far apart like completely different strangers.

Shao Liling now felt so stupid as to think she grew closer with him, in reality, they were now universes apart, in the state of mind.

She didn't exactly know why she did wrong, but she felt bad for a particular reason.

'Did I do something wrong? Was I...
