He then immediately turned on his TV that was on the wall facing his bed and browsed through Netflix. He started with the Titanic, which was a popular love story. He carefully tried to place himself in the character's spot and succeeded in acting as both Jack and Rose. He then went on a huge movie marathon to look at the other types of love. Puppy love, first love, crush, crazy love, extremely crazy love, possessive love, etc. He still hadn't chanced upon an example of love for a father until he came across a movie about a girl that had her mother and father die by her hand for killing her adoptive parents. He sobbed as he wailed, "She wanted to kill the people that killed her parents! Why did she have to kill them then?! This is so stupid! Why am I crying so hard?" He took a deep breath as he rewound the movie. After lots of crying and attempts, he could start tearing up and portray any type of sadness.

Sam sniffed and blew his nose as he started to browse through the romance category. He sighed when he looked at the clock that read: 10:00 p.m.

"Might as well pull an all-nighter."

The next day, Sam stepped off the bus and walked to his school's front gate, maneuvering through the throngs of sleepy students. Sam had dark circles under his eyes, hair messy, and his uniform wasn't even buttoned properly. He dragged his feet as he stepped into the classroom, immediately catching the attention of Daniel and Alex who rushed over to interrogate him.

"Why do you look so tired?" asked Daniel as he placed his hand on Sam's back to lead him to their usual seats.

"I pulled an all-nighter watching movies to work on my acting."

"Damn, Sam, hey that rhymes, I've never seen you this interested in something since elementary school when you wanted to impress Sarah Lou."

"I know right? But maybe a whole lot more invested."

Sam rubbed his eyes as he sat down. "I want to become an actor. I really, really want to become an actor."

"Even if you really, really want to become an actor, you should still take care of yourself. Even when you aren't pulling all-nighters, you barely get 5 hours of sleep!" Alex stared at him with worry in her eyes.

"I'm a night owl, what can I say?"

Daniel sighed, "How much did you learn from the movies then?"

"I'll show you guys during lunch, but let's go to our secret spot, I don't want to look crazy."

"Mkay, but you already look pretty crazy, your shirt isn't even buttoned properly."

Alex shook her head, "God, how tired are you? Where did your shame go? What happened to the shy boy from before?"

Sam shrugged. "He disappeared when a recent all-nighter from watching movies sucked all the care for anything out of his body."

"Good morning everyone. Please go to your seats and pull out your workbooks. Go to page 274," said the teacher.

Daniel whispered to Sam and Alex, "Don't forget, go to the secret spot during lunch."

"Got it."

Sam yawned as he slowly walked out of the classroom. He had taken a nice nap during his 4th period after his teacher took pity on him. He was trudging through the hallways when a girl shyly walked up to him, "H-h-hi Sam. I saw that you were very tired in 4th period. I have coffee if you want it." She lowered her head, blushing.

"Really? Thanks!" Sam flashed her a gentle smile. The girl felt like she had been blessed by the gods to see his ethereal smile. He looked like an angel with that peaceful smile as the sunlight illuminated him, making him look like he was glowing.

Her face turned even more red as she hid her face in her hair, "H-h-here."

She quickly handed him the can of coffee and ran off to her friends. When she looked back over to Sam, he winked at her and raised the coffee can at her. She quickly turned back to her friend group that had burst out in squeals and screams. Sam sauntered away, happy with his treat. When he got to the gym and pulled the doors open, he saw Daniel and Alex standing face to face, Daniel murmuring in her ear as she blushed. Jealousy and sadness flashed through Sam before he shouted out, "Eww. Get a room!"

Daniel and Alex quickly parted, Daniel whistling as he looked around the gym, Alex blushing as she covered her face with her hands. Sam wore a mischevious smile as Alex ran over to him and smacked him on the shoulder.

"Ouch! Abuse! Daniel, why do you like this violent woman?"

Alex hit him again.

"I don't like her,"said Daniel as he walked up to them, "I love her."

Alex blushed ferociously as Daniel wrapped his arms around her.

Sam looked away. "Okay, okay, I get it, I'm single! You don't have to rub it in my face!"

The trio joked around for a couple more minutes before Daniel pulled them back to the topic they were meeting up for.

"So, show us your skills."

Sam smirked. "Prepare to be amazed."

He walked away from them. When he was around 12 ft away from them, he turned around, his face filled with concern. He ran up to Alex.

"Are you okay? I heard about how the chicken chased you with the knife. You weren't hurt, were you?" Love and adoration appeared on his face.

"I promise I won't let you get hurt, I lov-" he stopped, his face blushing.

"I-i love you."

Daniel whistled, "Dang! That was good, but don't seduce my girl!"

Sam stepped back and smiled, "I didn't know what to make up, so I just said chicken with a knife."

Alex fanned her face, "If I was single and didn't think of you as a friend, I would definitely be seduced."

Sam stumbled backward, his hand on his chest, "Being friend zoned hurts my pride even though I'm not into you."

Alex also placed her hand on her chest too. "You saying you're not into me hurts my ego too."

The trio bantered back and forth until lunch was over. When the day was over, Sam went straight back to his house to practice in front of the mirror.
