Fake Cinderella

10. First time cooking

Here, I cooked for the first time because I was forced to go back to Nojuku on my way to Wangdu.

From the castle of Elzevelt to the king's capital, it took ten days to come, he said.

This is about women and children...... it's about me...... because I chose all the big cities to stay on because of the extra time on the schedule, and if I don't pay any attention to those things, I'll get there in about five days. About three days if you're an early horse.

Sometimes we said we were carrying the body of El Lucia and we were in a hurry. By appointment, I was thinking about six to seven days even if I couldn't do five days.

But the third day. I just got here about half way through fine, and my carriage wheels came off. If I looked closely, the axle was less polished and I had to replace it. Replacing the axle takes a moment.

"... you probably won't be able to enter the next city in time. There are no towns or villages around here..."

A little big. The city closes its gates at night. Once the gate is closed, you cannot enter the city without special permission.

"It is possible to open a closed gate in Her Highness's name."

Lilia adds words.

I shook my head to the side. I don't do that kind of impossibility as much as I can. It's not something you have to push through.

"Tonight we will be camping, are you sure?

"Yes."

Nodded.

Originally prepared for tents and other camps.

Unless you can afford so much money to travel in this world, Nojuku is normal. I, for example, who lived in modern society, immediately think that I should stay in hotels and inns, but only those who earn quite a bit of money have access to accommodation.

The number of specialized accommodations is not that large, and we need to be a little big town. If there is no accommodation, generally everyone goes to church. I'm going to spend some time in the church with an empty trainee's quarters.

Our line is about 80 people. Regardless of the big city, there is no place in small towns where this many people can stay even if they are dispersed.

The town we stayed in yesterday was also small, we were allowed to rest in the church and the knights had a tent around the church. It was natural recognition for them to camp, and if we put up with it, it would have been fine.

It was a cold time in the middle of the ice moon, but not an area that gets so snowy around here. I thought if I didn't keep the fire on, I'd be fine for a night or so.

Besides, I'm wearing a hooded coat with a wool tie and a fur backing all over it, and even a boot with a fur lining. Completely defensive.

The waterfront, which entered a little from the street, was determined to be a camp. There's also a windscreen forest, which is a promising place.

The knights kept busy putting up tents and caring for horses, and wanting to eat was assigned my samurai's job.

Sometimes it's not helpful for hard work, but you want to eat a little faster.

"Your Highness rest here."

The knights piled stones and prepared a simple fireplace for me to put a chair by.

Sleeping is in a carriage with horses off. It would be a simple bed if you knocked down the back of the carriage seat and tightened the cushion. Instead, he also prepares a small tent that is doubled.

The wagon grated a box containing a large pot, vegetables, etc., which had been loaded.

Self-catering is common on these journeys. Anyway, if we're going to stay in a church or a consular hall, we'll take a place and make our own, so it's normal for us to prepare more ingredients.

"What do you make?

"Since the staple foods are the military's portable preserved food biscuits, I think I'll serve them with soup. … a good hunting product has captured me."

On the road, hunting is also normal. Otherwise, very little fresh meat goes into your mouth.

"Yes, I look forward to it."

I laugh small. Lilia and the maids are laughing happily.

Chain of smiles. It brightens my tendency to sink.

(And it's so frightening, that handwriting)

In Dardinia, noble wives and ladies rarely cook on their own.

I rarely cook with my own hands, even if I consult with a cook to decide on a menu or sift through the extraction of dinner. This tends to be more pronounced the higher the status.

"Ah."

"Want."

Julia drops the potato she was peeling and Alice cuts her finger off.

"What are you doing?"

Lilia gets stunned and looks.

Exactly. Lilia is clever. Milady and I are struggling together as the daughter of a janitor at Mizuranch and have cooking experience.

It's not like the food is being taken lightly.

Instead, here cooks are recognized as highly paid professionally skilled. A butler is the most well-paid servant, but a well-armed cook sometimes gets a salary comparable to that butler, he said.

If you are also the chief chef of the aristocratic hall, you are treated locally as a celebrity, and if the rural poor want to emerge, they say you will go for the cook first.

However, cooking facilities are not so well developed, and there are many accidents. The kitchen, which always uses fire, is a dangerous place, so from the chivalry spirit of telling women not to step in, it seems that noblemen's depths and courtiers are not supposed to get much into the kitchen.

Quite the opposite among the city and rural people, cooking is an important task for the housewife of the family, and men are not supposed to enter the kitchen to stay out of the way.

(Today, you're a little unhappy if it takes too long...)

The lunch break was not satisfactory. The sun has fallen, and your stomach will be diminishing.

The knights are handy because they can be camped and are already getting ready.

We don't all knights get into the tent anyway. More than half will be shouldering each other on the side of the fire. At the very least, I want you to eat something fast that will warm your body from the core.

"... I'll do it too"

"Huh?"

"I have a dish I read about in a book. Cooking that warms the body. I'll make it."

I'm sorry, it's a lie to say I read it in a book. This is the first time I've cooked so many people outdoors, but it would be better than these unbridled handmaids.

"Oh..."

I just get Alice's knife before Lilia tells me anything.

The truth is, I was going to watch you quietly. But doing nothing. It was painful just sitting there, and I wanted to cook for the first time in a long time.

"Alice asks the knights to pump water into the pot when she's done with the scratches."

"Yes."

"When you're done, line up the condiments on that board"

My hands move. It's getting smaller, but I can handle a proper knife. Good. My fingertips aren't dull.

"There, peel the potatoes if anyone has free hands. You don't have to peel carrots and darkha, wash them beautifully... chop them like this with so much thickness"

Show a knight who looks hand-held a specimen of cutting all the time. Darha is a green radish. The flavor is crisp and refreshing, and it looks radish itself, but the color is yellow and green to the inside. I'd like to make a fudge or something with this if I have time.

"Did you wash the mushrooms lightly and dismantle the meat? Yes. Then cut it into bite sizes."

In this case, all you need is speed.

When I saw the side by side seasoning, there was miso. Tastes like Kyushu wheat miso. I licked it and it tasted very similar, and this is good! I thought. I love wheat miso.

(Let's make it a miso sauce. with plenty of ginger and leeks)

Chop plenty of ginger and mix half with miso. Wash there with wine and marinate the salted meat. I'd really like to soak it for an hour or so and put it away, but I can't afford the luxury.

The total number of people in a row is over 80. It takes a lot of effort to make this number of people.

"Do you have the number of people?

The pale blonde answers my question.

"The knight always carries three portable meals, but the lid of the can containing the food replaces the dish and the container part."

"Really? Aren't you hot in a can?

"It's hot. But I'm used to it."

I've never known it before.

They can also cook in that can. Maybe it's like a lunch box.... Don't tell me you wanted a little. No, it doesn't look like I'll get a chance to use it.

"Ah, wash this. Then wash those mushrooms too. More oil in the pan... yes"

The Knights have an obedient knight in charge of the cooking number. Two people, Greg and Orr, were in charge of the actual cooking instead of me, who was powerless.

"First, fry the ginger"

Chop a little red tortoise into the ginger left half and mix.

Everyone began to pay attention to the sound of a jug and the scent of rising in the winter night air.

"Drain the meat... fry all the miso"

Fire becomes more resistant to cancer. The miso burned. Smells good.

Then, fry the meat. The point is to burn some miso first.

The stick spinning the pan looked like the axle of the replaced carriage.

"Oh, that's the axle. It's okay, because we scraped the surface all the way."

(No, that's not the problem... no, let's not worry about it...)

He then pours the hot water that he knew for cancer in the big pot next door. There was a loud noise, and the fierce hot air rose.

"Ahhh."

"Your Highness."

I was surprised to see a drop in my hand. I'm just surprised, but Greg and Ol change their complexion openly. Get down on your knees and press and hold on to try to apologize and instruct the procedure. It's no big deal.

"It's okay. Just a little bit.... Oh, put the vegetables in."

When the vegetables are boiled, finish looking at the flavor. The balls were of normal size. If I dropped it in the pan, I'm sure you won't know... that's how big the pan was.

Add the salt that is in the bucket with the balls, separately. It's too expensive to cook, but I can't help it with this amount.

When I poured the last white wine hard, Count Stazen looked like a waste. Apparently, he likes wine. But this alcohol adds depth to the flavor.

"... have you done it yet?

It was a blonde waiting for you earlier. How well you grow up in a boy style. Finally, a picky face is good from what I've seen so far.

I can see that Alice and Julia have been aware of it since just now.

"Yeah. Oh, get the green onion if you like before you eat it"

... Oh, that? Could this be this guy, isn't that... er, the third brother put on the escort.

"Um..."

"Your Highness, this is good. Which dish is it?

"Um... I read it in a book. I thought it would be just fine because it said that plenty of ginger would warm my body..."

If I'm trying to confirm, I can call from someone I don't know. It could be Elsevelt's knight because I can't think of a name. While I was talking to him, the figure of a brother disappeared from my sight. Next time I see it, don't forget to thank me.

The warm smell that spreads through the night, the knights, who should behave well, are cheering and flocking to the pot.

"... Your Highness, this is delicious."

Lilia is rounding her eyes. Something tells me that at some point Lilia stopped calling me a princess.

Someday, I thought, but I just couldn't remember.

But I feel somewhat closer than before, even if I have been changed to Her Highness.

"Good."

"I didn't know Your Highness had cooking skills."

"It's not good enough to say."

To Uncle Stazen's words, give back a grin.

The Count's face stained a little red, it shouldn't be the lighting back of the fire.

(Beautiful girl's smile is so powerful)

It was not pursued thanks to it.

... As far as I can tell, I don't have it in Altirier, so cooking minds.

Let's push it through because it's the knowledge I read in the book. Fortunately, it seems a well-known fact that Altirier is a child who reads books often.

Here and there, it's good, I don't know. It's upsetting.

Apparently, the flavoring of miso sauce is a great success. I'm not that good at this kind of outdoor force-style cooking, but I'm glad it worked.

"Enjoy, Your Highness."

My share is also transported to me by the woodcutter. Wooden spoon accompanied. Well tamed and easy to grasp with polite work done.

It's actually easier to eat this one than a silver cutlery, but it's also poison prevention, so I can't help it with that one.

Eating that juice whilst saying heh heh is amazing. Thus, gathering and eating together by the fire is also ringed to it.

Come to think of it, this is the first time I've had dinner with someone since I've been here.

I'm the only one sitting in a chair, and everyone else is sitting with a stump, sitting on a stone, laying tree branches on the ground.

The difference in identity, you see openly.

I must accept this as a matter of course.

But still, I felt everyone much closer than I did when I was in Elsevelt's castle.

"It tastes good when we all eat it"

Uncle Stazen, sitting next to him, narrowed his eyes to the words he snapped without telling anyone.

(Let's not forget......)

Flames burning red, hot air with a good scent to get up, and the bragging of cheerful knights.

Because I'm sure this is not the occasion.

If you put it on Wang Capital, the convoy organized just for your patience this time will also be disbanded.

A face slightly stained with lilian alcohol, a face that tells a secret story about Alice and Milady, to Julia's smile when she changes. My chest aches that I don't see El Lucia here.

But it was so warm, it was just fun to watch.

So I thought I'd keep it in mind... because I thought I'd remember it warming my chest every time I remembered it.

It was not until shortly after returning to the King's capital that thirty guard knights, less than Count Stazen, gave me their swords with the permission of His Majesty the King.
