Chapter 512: The new film queen

   Chapter 512

Shirley MacLean is right, the awards process at the Oscar party is long and slow, and the best actress award is awarded in the penultimate place. The waiting process of more than three hours was a torment for all the nominees.

The earliest major award given out was Best Supporting Actor. Ronald saw "an old acquaintance" Timothy Hutton again, who came on stage with Mary Tyler Moore as the presenter.

When    announced the nominees, the "Mother-Daughter Love" crew was obviously well-received. The first nominee, John Lithgow, received a collective applause from the audience. He is the actor who played the role of the heroine's father, priest, in "Full Body".

Another nominee from the same cast, Jack Nicholson, received twice as much applause as John Lithgow. Finally, Hutton announced that he won the best supporting actor.

Jack Nicholson took off his sunglasses and went up to deliver his acceptance speech.

"I guess you won the queen, the audience obviously applauded your crew more than everyone else, they are all voters, and your performance is obviously a level higher than others", Ronald attached to Shirley Mack Lin's ear spoke her own analysis.

"Ah...haha...don't talk about it, you little clever ghost." Shirley was overjoyed by what she said, and she was afraid that Ronald would scare away the goddess of luck by saying that she was too full.

She started clapping happily, applauding her partner Nicholson. The camera swept over, gave a shot, and swept in Ronald next to him.

"The producer, writer, and director are the same person, James Brooks, who has done everything for our actors...including changing the eleventh version of my acceptance speech for me". Jack Nicholson's remarks caused a burst of laughter.

"I would have liked to thank Shirley (MacLean) and Deborah (Wenger) for inspiring my performance, but they are still competing for Best Actress, and I'll congratulate them later."

"Hahaha..." Everyone applauded, and most of the guests present knew what was going on.

Shirley and Deborah's bodies were obviously stiff at the same time, and the competition between the two of them for the actress was already very obvious.

Next, Ronald's acquaintances, "Blitzkrieg" actress Jennifer Beals, and "War Game" actor Matthew Brodick awarded Best Original Song.

   "Eileen Kara, Flash Dance!"

Ronald grinned as his old friend Erin Cara came onto the stage, she was rich Latin-inspired with a big red flower on her head, and stammered to thank Beers for adding to her vocals. .

"Now she won't worry about not singing for the next two or three years."

Then another acquaintance, Schwarzenegger as the robot killer in Cameron's new Terminator. Together with Joan Collins, he presented the award to six Tech Award winners. They all made some inventions and creations that benefited the entire film industry.

However, there is no golden man in the Technology Award, only a certificate.

After   , the "mother and daughter are deeply in love", both joys and sorrows.

Formerly vocal art director Polly Platt didn't win, and Shelly hugged her to comfort her.

This one actually has something to do with Ronald. Peter Bogdanovich, the director who took him to meet the master Orson Welles, is Polly's ex-husband. Bogdanovich abandoned Polly and a daughter for actress Sybill Shepard.

In the end, Roger Coleman gave her a job, allowing Polly to return to her old career as art direction, and now she has climbed to the top of her career.

James Brooks, the producer, screenwriter, and director, won the first two awards for Best Adapted Screenplay and Best Director.

A few hours after the party, it was finally time for the two remaining awards, Best Actress and Best Picture.

The female guest of    is the daughter of actress Judy Garland who plays Dorothy in the original version of "Return to Oz" directed by Walter Murkey, singer Lisa Minnelli.

Except for Deborah Wenger in the same crew, Shirley MacLean's opponents are all very strong. And Meryl Streep, who played Slikwoood, and Julie Waters, who played a college-going hairdresser in Educating Rita, played by Michael Caine The professor's education changed his destiny.

When Lisa Minnelli mentioned the nomination of Shirley MacLean, Ronald saw Shirley MacLean, who had been in the show business for more than 30 years, had tense muscles and almost couldn't laugh.

He tried to make her relax, and after the camera turned around, he said, "I have a hunch...you..."

"Oh, shut up." Shirley MacLean couldn't stand the tension and slapped Ronald on the thigh, "Don't talk!"

"The winner is..." Lisa Minnelli opened the envelope, "The winner is Shirley MacLean"

   "Oh..." Ronald applauded vigorously.

Shirley MacLean stood up, and when she relaxed, she put an arm around Ronald and kissed him. Then he went down the steps, and when he passed Deborah Wenger in front, he didn't forget to go down and kiss Deborah, and said something in her ear.

McLean walked more and more dashingly, she walked onto the stage, hugged tightly with the two presenters, and took over the statuette.

"I'm almost crying, this awards ceremony is almost as long as my acting career."

"Hahaha..." The audience was overwhelmed by her humor and applauded desperately.

Shirley MacLean was so excited on it, she packed up her emotions, "I want to know how this trophy feels to the touch. I have been waiting for 26 years. Thank you to the committee for revealing the suspense tonight."

"Hahahaha..." There was another burst of laughter and applause. Twenty-six years have passed since McLean was nominated for the first time in 1958.

"Oh, I'm a little nervous...I'm not going to thank everyone in my life...but given my recent mental state, probably everyone I know in this life and in the past may have helped me with my award today. ."

"Hahahaha..." The audience began to applaud again, and McLean laughed at herself about her recent obsession with aliens and reincarnation.

Americans are very fond of successful people if they have a sense of humor.

"If the mother-daughter bond happened five years ago, I would probably say it was a happy accident. But now I don't believe in accidents, I now believe that what we want is what we can get. Believe in yourself, be you What you want to do in your heart is actually the same thing as success.”

MacLean gradually recovered and began to thank the director and other actors.

"I've always wanted to work with Jack Nicholson, since he had chicken sandwiches in 'Five Songs' for over a decade..."

Nicholson is very useful, wearing sunglasses to blow a kiss to McLean, which is his famous work after breaking away from Roger Coleman.

"It's really a middle-aged woman's benefit to be able to roll with him in the movie."

"Hahaha..." You rarely see Jack Nicholson embarrassed.

McLean was very old and flirted with Nicholson.

"I would also like to thank Deborah Wenger, who is as talented as a hurricane, her performance was so real, I felt like I had two daughters for four months of filming."

"Hahaha..." Ronald saw it, and Maclean didn't forget to sneer at Deborah Wenger's difficulty on the set when she won the award.

"But in the end, I would also like to say that life and movies are like clay, waiting for us to shape it into ceramics. Our success starts when we believe in our hearts, and God blesses everyone if we believe we are worthy success.

I deserve this! thank you all! "

Shirley MacLean raised the statue and stepped off the stage amid the music.

"Poppapa..." Everyone fell in love with her charm and self-confidence. She was nominated five times for twenty-six years, and Shirley MacLean was finally crowned as the actress.

Ronald hugged McLean again, "Wait and send it to the backstage, where someone will take it away, and give it back to you after the engraving in two weeks."

"Oh, I'm so excited." McLean's eyes flickered a little, "The luck you brought me, Ronald, you must come to my birthday party."

Counting the time, just two weeks before the release of "Breakdance", Ronald smiled and agreed.

The last grand prize was also taken away by "Mother and Daughter Love". This kind of blockbuster with excellent scripts, performances, and stars often only appears once in two or three years, and it can sweep away multiple heavyweight awards.

After attending the party after the production party again, Ronald walked with Nisita exhausted.

is the completion of the mission. After the party, Ronald answered a few words about his new film to the winners who lined up to be interviewed. There was also a party after the party, and a lot of business cards were exchanged.

At this Oscar dinner, Ronald clearly felt that there were more people who knew him and who took the initiative to get acquainted with him than before.

Nisita is also very satisfied with him, "For an award of this level after the new film, there will be a busy entertainment period after winning the award, and Maclean will be held up to the sky, various interviews, various parties, and some blockbusters. We will also offer tentative olive branches to her. Because she is a veteran actress, the producers are not afraid of her suddenly high self-esteem and offer a sky-high price."

"You were able to attend her birthday party, which is a great opportunity to market your movie."

"Well..." Ronald thought for a while, "I'm afraid she'll scare away a bunch of people by talking nonsense about reincarnation and aliens."
