Chapter 456: You are late

   Chapter 456 You are late

"Hi, Brooke, I'm Ronald." Ronald counted the time and dialed Brooke's home in New Jersey. After the kissing incident, he never talked to Brooke about it again.

"Hi, Ronnie." Brooke's voice on the other end of the phone seemed a little shy.

"Baby dear, come and see Brooke's hairdresser, what kind of hairstyle should you do today? Who are you calling?" Brooke's mother, Terry, brought out a plastic mannequin, which was strictly according to Brooke customized head shape.

Terry always wears various wigs on this model to confirm today's hairstyle with Brooke, hence the name Brooke Hairdresser.

"It's Ronald," Brooke said to her mother, covering the microphone.

"Is that Terry? I'm calling to ask if you have received an invitation from 'Longwei Kid', this movie is now directed by me." Ronald heard Terry talking on the other side of the phone.

Terry heard that it was Ronald, and he had to accept that he rushed to rescue his daughter from a car accident, so he just pouted and made a "No" mouth to his daughter.

"Well, Ronnie. I got an invitation, but you know, I got into Princeton, which is my dream, so I'm not going to do this kind of long-term movie project for now. If your movie can be postponed until the holidays During... oh, okay." Brooke also made an "I rejected him" mouth to Terry.

"Well, I know you're going to college, I'm calling just to try my luck."

"I'm going to Princeton soon, and I'm packing my bags. Princeton promised me an ordinary dorm. I'm excited to live in a dorm that's hundreds of years old."

"Will you come when I start school? There was a party in my old house in New York... oh, I see, you're still busy with the movie, so... that's it?"

Brooke hung up the phone, touched his lips, and fell into memory for a while.

Ronald also hung up the phone and felt relieved. Weintraub suddenly wanted to ask Brooke to play the role. If Brooke agreed to train her acting skills, it would kill her. But on the other hand... He also thought of the kiss that Brooke escaped.

"Honey, who are you calling?" Helen recovered some energy from the blow, and went out to relax with her friends in the morning. When she came back, she saw Ronald holding the phone in a daze.

"Oh, it's Brooke. Brooke Shields, she rejected me."

"She rejected you?" Helen was also startled when she heard Ronald say this.

"She's going to study at Princeton, she can't play the heroine of Longwei Kid, and another heroine candidate I like is going to study at Harvard. I hate Ivy League."

"Well, you have to choose someone else, Ronnie," Helen said to Ronald. "Your cousin Donna's flight is almost here. I have to go to the Supergirl press interview this afternoon. When I get back we will See you again."

Then Helen gestured at her trophy to the full-length mirror, "How do you think I wear this? My friends and I went to a lot of second-hand dress stores." Helen took out the second-hand dresses she bought in the morning.

The slightly pink dress complemented Helen's complexion, Ronald nodded, "It's very good, but why do you always wear second-hand clothes? I also made an appointment with the fashion designer Mr. Giorgio Armani, for you too Provide a dress..."

"Why? Am I not looking good in this? It's too wasteful for American people now. If we can save some, those children in third world countries can get food and medical care."

"Ah..." Ronald remembered that Helen's mother was an environmentalist and an anti-nuclearist. She is also obligated to provide legal defense to many environmental groups.

"But I've promised Mr. Armani, I thought you'd love a custom dress."

"Honey, I think these are all over-consumption. I can buy desirable clothes at a very cheap price, right?" Helen picked up the clothes and compared them again.

"Okay," thought Ronald, and then he'll have to explain it to Mr. Armani.

"Ding dong", the door opened, it was Ronald's cousin Donna, standing in front of the door.

"Hello, Ronnie, it's very spacious here." Donna pulled a suitcase with two wheels under it, which is a special style for little girls.

"Donna, why did you come by yourself? Didn't you tell me to call me and I asked Richard to pick you up?"

"No, I visit several universities in New England, all by myself."

"Hello, Helen", Donna and dressed Helen also said hello.

"Come with Donna, my friend will drive to pick me up." Helen and Donna hugged, put on pale pink clothes, opened the door and walked out.

"Which schools are you going to visit? I'll ask Richard to drive you there. I've been busy with movies lately, so I can't get away."

"No, I've already got my driver's license, just lend me the car." Donna reached out for the car keys.

"Can you do it? Will Aunt Karen agree?"

"Of course, she also said I drove well."

"Okay," Ronald reached out and handed Donna the key to the Saab 900.

"Where are you going in the afternoon?" Donna got the keys, went to test the car, and then came back home to pack up.

"I'm going to visit Diane's class. The producer, Mr. Weintraub, wants to try her out and see if she is interested in participating in my new movie. I contacted her agent yesterday and went directly to the studio this afternoon."

"Oh, okay, I'll go too, I haven't seen her in a long time." Donna flicked the car keys, just in time to drive Ronald.

Donna drove carefully and slowly came to the largest studio in Universal Studios.

The two registered from the studio assistant and got the reserved visit pass.

As soon as Ronald entered the door, he saw music director Jim Steinman, the long-haired songwriter, directing his band to take their place on the stage, with a harmony team of four female singers standing in the back row.

Today is another concert shoot. Diane Lane starring rock singer Alan Ann, after being rescued by Cody from the villain, re-opened a concert in her hometown to make up for the audience's regret.

This time she sang the single by Bruce Springsteen, "Rage Streets" of the same name as the movie. Diane, wearing a backless red costume, began to move on stage.

"Water?" The stand-in dancer Marlene Jahan has transformed into Diane's valet, holding a bottle of water, revealing a straw for Diane to drink.

"Energy bar?" Marlene broke off a small piece of chocolate energy bar and handed it to Diane to replenish her energy.

"Diane!" Donna yelled at her good friend Diane from outside the railing below the stage.

"Um..." Diane took a few bites of the chocolate and waved to the people beside her, asking them to let Donna and Ronald in.

Ronald walked into the stage, and Diane's new costume was also carefully ordered by Giorgio Armani. The red dress all over the body is inlaid with diamonds and there is a big V opening directly to the waist and hips.

Dian wore heavy performance makeup. Her face was very suitable for this kind of makeup. Under the light, her tall nose cast a shadow on her face. With high combed hair, long eyelashes, and dark eyeshadow, she looks like a real rock star.

Ronald didn't know Diane a bit, not only because of her makeup and dress, but in the few weeks of filming, Diane's temperament changed completely, just because of the few days she had just instructed Ma Lin to be her assistant. Now, there is already a star's aura.

Donna climbed onto the stage with hands and feet, and went up to hug her friend.

"Oh... Be careful, don't mess with your makeup" Donna was also very surprised by Diane's change, and was a little afraid to recognize each other.

"It doesn't matter, I'll let them paint again in case it costs me." Diane pulled a good friend to sit on a chair with his own name, and put Ronald aside, and the two best friends talked.

Ronald saw that the two of them were having a good chat, and walked aside to say hello to producer Joel Silver.

"So this is almost done?" Ronald asked about Joel's progress.

"There are still a few shots to finish. Today is our last scene in this studio. When we finish filming the scenes of Diane's concert, the stage and concert sets here will be dismantled."

"When are you going to be released?"

"Around next summer, why do you have time to visit the class today?" Joel asked Ronald's purpose.

"My sister", Ronald pointed to Donna, "She is Diane's good friend. I brought her here today, and by the way, ask if Diane has any work arrangements next. I want to invite her to appear in my movie."

"Oh, she's a popular teen star now, and her agent came a few times last week."

On the other side, Diane and Donna also started chatting quietly.

"You've changed so much, Diane. I think you're so beautiful now that you're like a movie star. When I was with you before, I didn't feel like you were a female star."

"How is it? Not bad," Diane proudly showed off to her best friend, "My two sets of costumes are both custom-made by Giorgio Armani."

"I see that you are like a queen in the crew. Many people are very polite to you. Some people also send flowers to you." Donna pointed to the rose next to it, and there was a card on it.

"It was given by the actor Michael Parr. I don't like this hairy guy, but he often sends flowers, so I leave them alone."

"You're in the crew now, aren't you the boss?" Donna quietly observed the eyes of the people around Diane. Many people were envious, and some women looked at her with jealous eyes.

"Of course, you don't know, the interpersonal relationship in the crew is too complicated, you see that woman in the supporting role, she tried to sneak in my costume last time. And that Rick Moranis, the one with glasses, The boyfriend he plays my character is always chatting with me and telling his silly jokes."

"Which one? Is that the little guy? He looks a bit wretched."

"Yeah, he still thinks his jokes are funny, and he quarreled with Michael Parr the other day and almost got into a fight."

"Did you provoke them?" Donna giggled.

"I don't have it, don't talk nonsense." Di An also giggled, and at this moment she showed the appearance of some high school girls.

Donna touched Diane with her elbow, "Hey, Diane. Do you still like my brother? He seems to have a problem with that Helen. I came this morning to see that she and Ronnie didn't talk much, and went out shopping by themselves. ."

"Humph!" Diane snorted, "The brother who has a crush on a good friend, every girl has this kind of dream, it'll be good when she grows up. I used to have a crush on him, but now..."

"Diane, do you have time to chat?" Ronald heard Joel Silver say that Diane's agent had arranged a few auditions for her. He couldn't sit still, so he hurried over to ask. If Diane has other film contracts, Ronald can only count on "Red Dawn" and Harvard to let people go, which is a bit of handing over the initiative to others.

"Hey, I should have asked Diane earlier." Ronald saw Diane today and found that she was more than enough to play a beautiful high school student. Like Ali's dream lover, it was not a big problem.

"What's the matter?" Diane turned his head and looked at Ronald, with bright red lips and a big wavy hairstyle, Ronald was obviously startled. Diane seems to have cultivated a charming and star-like temperament in the months of filming. Raising hands and feet is no longer a green look.

"How can it change so much in a few months?" Ronald put his mind away, "I'm here to ask, do you have any film appointments next? My new film 'Long Wei Kid' just needs a heroine. "

Diane raised her head slightly, looking at Ronald with a charming look, and slowly stroked the ends of her hair, "You are late, Ronald. I have promised Director Coppola to star in his new work, Playing a singer in the 1920s and 1930s, I thought it was similar to this role, so I agreed."

"Diane? Can we start moving?" the director asked with a microphone beside him.

"Come on", Diane ruffled her hair, stood up and walked to the middle of the stage, posing in a ready pose.

"Turn on the lights and let's see the effect."

With a few clicks, the million-dollar gaffer turned on the overhead lights. Several beams of sunlight came in from the small windows in the ceiling, and under the diffuse reflection of the smoke, several light paths appeared, shining on Diane, and the broken diamonds were as beautiful as the stars.

The sound came from Jim Steinman's singer Sargent, who sang on his behalf, with a voice with some metallic tones.

"When the night is dead, you don't care about me anymore,

Your eyes are tired, someone is at your door,

You realize you want to let go

The loser lies in the cold wall, you hug you

In the depths of your heart, baby, I'm not a liar, I just have to go"

The lyrics seem to be alluding to his and Diane's situation. "Hey, it's late." Ronald hammered the railing with one hand in anger.

In this way, I can only hope that Leigh Thompson will not be selected by "Red Dawn", or that Elizabeth Shue's Harvard teacher will be reasonable and let her shoot the film.
