Divine Beast Tamer

In a large castle of the elven kingdom, a beautiful elven maiden was reading some books, written in both human and elven language.

This elven maiden was the 7th princess of the elven kingdom, Selene Elvantes who is also one of the top beauty in the kingdom. Though elves mostly had handsome or beautiful faces, Selene's beauty was still situated at the top of the list of beautiful female elves. She was also one of the most talented elves in the elven kingdom, her talent for magic and archery are recognized even by the king of the whole elven race.

She was currently reading some books related to the strengthening of one's body. Since young Selene had wanted to learn the way of the sword but due to the weak constitution of elves, she can't start practicing it.

Elves mostly chose to become archers, nature magicians, spirit summoners and sometimes they chose to be Beast Tamers. But no elves practiced the way of the sword or other melee weapons. During a war, close combat fighting was always being assigned to the spirit summoners, as they can summon multiple spirits that can fight in close range.

At one time many elves tried to practice the way of melee weapons, but due to this, the casualties of the elven race during great wars increased in numbers. Elves had a very low fertility rate and the increased in the number of casualties would cause a big burden to the population of the elves. Therefore, the leader of the elven race at that time prohibited the practice of melee weapons, focusing their entire race on long-range units, and gave the frontline to the beast tamers and the spirit summoners.

Selene was very frustrated about the elves' constitution, but she didn't give up on her dream. She started searching all the books related to the strengthening of the body in the elven kingdom's library.

As she was reading in the library, a book caught her attention. It was one of the books that were written by humans. In the very first year that elves came to this world, the elven kingdom started collecting information through the texts written by humans. They collected all the written journals, books and etc. that they had found or looted from the dead human bodies that were left after a great war between the elves and the humans. After acquiring this written texts, they then gave it to the world tree for it to be translated into the elven language.

The world tree that they have in this world wasn't the real world tree, it was only a clone of the real world tree. Though it was just only a clone, it still possessed all the knowledge its main body accumulated throughout the years that it was living. Therefore translating some text wasn't a hard thing to do for the clone of the World Tree.

The book that Selene found was a theoretical book about using the energy coming from the stars to strengthen one's body into greater heights, but as this technique gives great result and strength, it also had a great cost. Cultivating this technique would cause the one who practiced this technique to lose their vitality faster. As humans only live for a maximum of hundred or so years, cultivating this technique was like wanting a death wish. But elves were different, they had an amazing amount of vitality, making them live for a minimum of thousand years if nothing would happen to them that will cause death. That was just the normal elves. If the normal elves can easily live for thousand years, much more the royal family that has received the blessing of the world tree. Calculating the pros and cons of the technique, Selene decided to practice this technique secretly, as practicing the way of the sword was still prohibited in the elven kingdom.

She started by trying to use the energy coming from the sun following the instructions in the book, but it made her feel uncomfortable. The book said that when the body of the one who cultivated it felt uncomfortable, then that person isn't suitable for practicing this technique.

She felt discouraged once again. But due to her stubbornness, she didn't give up. She made her own research about the technique secretly by compiling all the knowledge that the elves got from the humans and the knowledge the elves they have themselves.

One time, one of the king's guard discovered her, learning the way of the sword and practicing some unknown technique. But due to her status, she wasn't punished, which caused some of the elven people to start loathing her for abusing her status and not receiving punishment.

But she didn't mind them and just continued researching and practicing the technique she got.

Time passed quickly, minutes became hours, hours became days, days became months, and months became years. 100 years had passed since Selene started her research, the elven people started to forget about her as her presence was becoming lesser and lesser as time passed by, she had buried herself deeply in her room, no matter what happened outside she didn't come out.

One of the most important events that happened in the kingdom during her closing up was the stepping down of the current elven king from his throne due to old age, which marked the start of the competition for the King's throne.

The kingdom of elves was usually a peaceful place, but when the time for the competition of the throne came, this peace would be disturbed, like a calm lake being disturbed by a stone that was thrown into it. The competition was like a big stone that was being thrown into a peaceful lake, which is the kingdom creating a great disturbance on its calm surface. This competition only happened once in a thousand years.

This competition would cause the weak one to wilt and the strong one to surface.

Selene, as the 7th princess of the elven kingdom, was one of the most beautiful female elves in the entire kingdom. As they say, beauty causes greed. One of the princes that had a great chance of succeeding the throne had a great desire directed to the 7th princess. This prince was only a half-brother to her, the same father but different mother.

That prince thought that Selene was weak because of her staying in her room all the time and not practicing magic, so he directly barged into her room, wanting her to surrender to him. But what the prince saw, really shocked him. Selene's hair and eyes became silver in color, very different from the yellow-green color before. And this changes caused her beauty to improved on another level making her the most beautiful female elf in the entire kingdom.

The prince's desire and lust for her increased as he saw this, so without knowing the cause of her changes, he forcefully wanted to take her. He used his magic to bind her, but an unexpected scene happened in front of him. A flying sword made of some unknown energy cut the magic bindings into pieces releasing her from the bind.

Selene asked her brother to stop, but the prince trusted his own strength and made his move, this time he used his full power. Selene retaliated when she saw him making his move, and that was the start of the battle between the two of them.

The battle caused great waves in the kingdom, but no one has stopped this battle as they are both competitors for the throne. As long as it wouldn't affect the innocent ones, the kingdom wouldn't interfere.

The people watching this battle predicted that the prince will surely win. But contradict to their words, the prince died in just 4 moves from the Selene.

They were shocked by this and looked at Selene's figure a second time. Eight swords made of energy were floating around her, Protecting her like loyal knights protecting their queen, as she stood there with a sword on her waist. These swords are different from each other. One of the differences that can be easily noticed between them was the radiance they emitted, which followed the radiance emitted in each phase of the moon.

This show of power from her created a greater disturbance than the news of the battle of the throne, for she was the first elf to make and practice her own sword technique.

At the end of the battle, she announced the name of her sword technique, she named it and gathered all those elves that wanted to train in the way of the sword becoming her followers. Time passed slowly, and the population of Selene's follower grew larger and larger making them one of the greatest faction in the entire kingdom.

She didn't want to fight her brothers and sisters, so she used her once in a lifetime opportunity to ask a solution to the world tree.

And the world tree's solution was to separate her and her entire followers from the whole kingdom of elves, creating a new kingdom and a new race of elves, making her the queen of this new race, then she named her new own race as the Silvermoon Elves. Also changing her last name from Elvantes to Silvermoon.

Those who trained in her ways possessed a common feature different from the normal elves, male elves had silver eyes while female elves had silver hair. Also, their children also had this same features in them. Only Selene had both features.

Time passed quickly, and Selene's kingdom was successfully built. But one day, the Queen fell in love with a male elf that she trusted the most and they married under the witness of the moon. Then she became pregnant and gave birth to the first prince of her kingdom. This child had both silver eyes and hair. Therefore, they conclude that only those that have the royal blood would possess both features.
