Divine Beast Tamer

As Ronald was walking, he remembered that there are some changes in his status screen which occurred when Freya became his tamed beast.

"Luna, Can you explain to me what are hidden stats?"

"Oh. You didn't know? Actually, all creatures had these stats. They are called hidden stats as they are not shown in the status screen unless there is an improvement in these stats. One of these hidden stats is luck. Luck affects everything that had a probability, such as your taming probability. If you unlocked this stat and managed to increase its points, your chance in taming a beast will increase, there is even a chance for you tame a beast of the higher rank. Also, don't hope on increasing this stat as there is no accurate way to do it."

"Then Luna what about Beast affinity and Leadership? Do these hidden stats have an amazing effect like the luck stat?"

"Though they may not be as good as the hidden stat luck, they are still quite amazing, especially the stat leadership. For occupations like Beast Tamer, Necromancer, War General and the likes, leadership plays an important role, as leadership refers to the ability of a being to lead a group. This stat affects the morale durability, coordination and if you have a high number of stat points in leadership, there may be a chance to increase the stats of the whole group by a percentage. Also, remember if you want to lead a group effectively, you need to have a high number of stat points in leadership. Increasing this stat is very easy, you just need to lead your tamed beast effectively in a fight. Now let's move on to Beast Affinity, Beast Affinity is the most important stat for Beast Tamers, as it affects the special sympathy between you and your tamed beasts. Having a high number of stat points in this stat will lessen the burden in increasing the loyalty of your tamed beast..."

Ronald listened to Luna's explanations as he was walking on the road.

Time passed quickly, 30 mins later, Ronald arrived near the entrance of the Everlast forest, then he started to find a suitable place for them to test some skills.

After a moment, Ronald came to a place with a fewer number of trees with many big rocks on the surroundings and decided to test Freya's skills here.

Ronald put Freya gently on a boulder and started to think of what skill to test first. But suddenly Luna reminded him of something.

"By the way, you didn't forget that you have some lottery tickets right?"

"Oh, I really forgot about that. I currently have 3 lottery tickets. By the way, what are the reward of today's lottery?"

"Check it yourself."

Ronald examined his lottery tab in his status screen.

There are many different picture cards attached on the three wheels, but Ronald didn't understand most of them, some had a sword with a red blade and a black hilt on them while another had a man breathing fire from his mouth. There wasn't any name or descriptions written in the pictures.

"Luna, are there any good things among the rewards? I didn't really understand any of these images."

"Why are you asking me that? As you can see, there are many available colors on the wheel, so of course, there are many good things there. But that doesn't matter as everything on this wheel relies on luck, even if you have spotted something that you wanted, you still need to rely on luck to get it.", Luna said with clear annoyance in her voice.

"Oh okay. I guess you're right.", Ronald sighed and calmed his minds. Then he mentally pressed the start button in the bottom of the wheel. Ronald prayed in his heart that he would have some good luck and received some useful things.

- [Congratulations, you got a blue card. You obtained the item ]

- [Congratulations, you got a blue card. You obtained the item ]

When Ronald saw these notifications, he didn't know whether to laugh or cry, he was thinking that maybe his luck had already been consumed on his first try.

Ronald calmed his heart again and mentally pressed the start button at the bottom of the wheel.

- [Congratulations, you got a green card. You obtained the item ]

- [Congratulations, you got a green card. You obtained the skill ]

- [Better luck next time, you got a black card.]

Ronald sighed as he saw the last notification, there are only 1 or 2 black cards on each wheel, how unlucky could he be obtaining 2 black cards within two tries.

Ronald looked at the current number of remaining tickets and mentally pressed the start button.

The wheels started to turn at a fast speed then gradually slowed down and stopped.

Ronald closed his eyes when he saw the wheel stopped turning, but sadly the wheels became clearer in his vision as the screen wasn't a physical thing it is an image that is presented directly on his mind.

Ronald was really going to cry when he saw the first two notifications.

But then...

- [What a great luck. Congratulations, you got a red card. You obtained the skill ]

Ronald's mind stopped for a moment before he realized what had happened. He was very happy and excited to the extent that he was about to start jumping on the ground.

While Freya was chasing a butterfly, she suddenly saw the changes in Ronald's expression. She thought that he was happy because of her chasing a butterfly, as Ronald was smiling while looking in her direction.

So Freya interpreted his expression wrongly and started to use her skill to chase all the butterfly in the area. She controlled the wind and made a gentle breeze moved along the grasses, startling the butterflies that are idling by the grasses. Which caused them to fly altogether above the area.

Ronald was still thinking about his luck when a very amazing thing happened. Thousands of butterflies flew at the same time, creating a magnificent view where the butterflies showcase the beauty of their colorful wings.

Ronald was impressed by this impressive sight and didn't notice Freya who was now sitting by his side, looking contented at the scene she made.

After some time, the butterflies disappeared together on the horizon.

"Hey, Ronald wake up.", Luna shouted in Ronald's mind.

Unknowingly Ronald got caught by an illusion, as he didn't know that those weren't ordinary butterflies.

Due to Luna's shouting, Ronald woke up.

"Do you know how close you are to death right now?", Luna asked in a reprimanding tone.

Ronald was very confused when he heard what Luna said.

"Those weren't ordinary butterflies. Those are a group of a nomadic beast of the spirit beast rank. Those beast are called Dream butterflies, they lure their prey by emitting some strange and light substance from their bodies which will cause their target to fall into an illusion. After their target fell into their illusions, they will slowly suck the blood of the target, killing their target slowly but surely. This substance traveled with the wind in the area, as this substance doesn't have any intent attached to it, detecting these little things in the air is very difficult. I'll explain to you what is in some other time, but for now, the only thing you'll need to know is that most attack skills need to have an intent imbued in it to function correctly."

Ronald was shocked when he knew that those aren't simple butterflies.

"Luckily Freya is by your side if not they'll feast in your blood first before they flew away."
