Ameyoko, shopping street.

It was nearly the evening. The shopping street was even more lively than during the day. There were many people coming and going.

A transport truck stopped at the door of a shop. Several strong men unloaded the goods. One of the middle-aged men put down the iced seafood box and wiped his sweat. He just saw a teenager coming out of the street.

“Ah Yu, these fish are very fresh. We just returned from the wharf. Do you want to take a few to try?” The middle-aged man greeted him from far away.

“Thank you. Today, our old man didn’t open the stove, I came out to find food.” Xia Yu thanked him very politely. “Uncle Gu Cheng, suit yourself.”

He kept walking with his hand in his pocket.

Passing an old decorated pastry shop, an old lady who wore glasses smiled behind the counter. “Ah Yu, do you want a dorayaki? Today’s red bean paste is very delicious.”

“No, Grandma Kawashima, you said that people should have a good meal for dinner. I plan to go to dinner.” Xia Yu waved to her and walked by.

All along the way, Xia Yu received at least a dozen greetings. Every elder, male or female, had a smiling face, and it filled his heart with warmth.

He had lived on this shopping street for more than ten years. Some people came and some left. The Chinese restaurant of Xia’s was always there. The old man did not have too many guests, but he was quite prestigious in the neighborhood. Perhaps it was because the old man often gave a hand to people who were in trouble. Over time, the old man became the default head of the street.

Regardless of the former Xia Yu, or the Xia Yu who had changed his soul, his personality was always easy going, and he often helped. In addition, his appearance was not bad, so he was welcomed by this group of uncles and aunts.

After ten years of development and expansion, the old shopping street had gained a great reputation even in the world. Xia Yu came out of the old block to the expanded new block. It was a completely different urban modern style.

The streets had become wider. The shops on both sides were stylishly decorated, with McDonald’s and clothing stores.

Xia Yu randomly found a restaurant on the street. It seemed that this restaurant had just opened. There was a flower basket at the door and the ribbon on it that had not been cleaned.

“Starlight Revolving Western Restaurant?”

Reading the name of the restaurant on the signboard, he pushed open the door. A waitress immediately bowed ninety degrees with a professional smile. “Welcome. How many people?”

“One.”

“Okay, please follow me.”

The waitress brought Xia Yu to the dining table beside the French windows. There was a layer of transparent glass mirrors on the outside. It was a busy shopping street out there. The location he was seated was good, and Xia Yu did not want to change it. He ordered three western style dishes and intended to treat his taste buds.

In the past few days, he practiced Chinese cuisine recipes all day and almost vomited. In order to keep his freshness and enthusiasm for Chinese cuisine, Xia Yu decided to eat something else outside.

He did not want to go far, so he could only eat in the shopping street.

After ordering, Xia Yu looked around. The newly opened western restaurant was very quiet. Apart from his table, there were only two other tables.

One seemed to be tourists. Their voices were relatively loud, and the language seemed to be Mandarin. Xia Yu was interested and craned his ears. He listened to the young and beautiful female tourists sharing their excitement for today’s journey. They were full of praise.

“Xiao Ya, the public review contains too little information about Japan’s stations, and I can’t search for any restaurant nearby. Hey, this was a mistake. When you come, you should check the Japanese food review app.”

A female tourist with a face that was a little round and cute sighed.

“You just want to eat.” Her companion was a goddess style beauty. She was wearing a dress which was elegant. She covered her mouth and smiled. “I heard that in Japan, as long as the store is open, the taste is not bad. This store is newly opened, and this place is prosperous. I think you don’t need to worry.”

Two Chinese girls who did not understand Japanese travelled freely like this?

Xia Yu’s mouth twitched.

Nihon’s law and order were good, but if you did not understand Japanese… The Nihon people’s painful English accent would make you feel like it was useless to learn English for more than a decade.

Since he was the third table, the meal was slow, but Xia Yu was not in a hurry. He took out his phone and tweeted. He listened to the interesting conversation between the two Chinese girls.

“Idiot!”

The quiet atmosphere was broken when an angry yell suddenly rang through the restaurant.

A table of three male guests all stood up. Two waitresses hurried over and kept bowing and apologizing.

“Idiot, the taste of your dish is simply not right!” A middle-aged bald man in a suit pointed at the beef dish that had not been finished on the table. His face was full of anger. “Boeuf bougignon is definitely not this taste. I want to complain about your restaurant!”

The middle-aged bald man pulled out his mobile phone and ignored the waitress’ pleading.

The male employee at the cash desk ran into the back kitchen cleverly. After a while, the chef in a white chef’s uniform appeared with sweat beads on his forehead. His face was eager. “Guest, I will cook another boeuf bougignon for you until you are satisfied.”

The middle-aged chef bowed ninety degrees, hanging his head for a long while without straight waist. “Please forgive me!”

The three male guests exchanged glances with each other. A tall young man with strong eyesight signalled the bald diner.

“No! I don’t believe you!”

“I will complain to the Food Association. You are not qualified to open a store at all!”

“This kind of cooking will only tarnish the holy profession of chefs!”

The bald diner shouted, his finger jogging the keys on the phone screen, as if dialling someone.

The chef of the restaurant obviously had little experience in handling emergencies. He rushed forward to grab the arm of the bald diner, as if to grab a mobile phone. His face was flushed.

Two young strong men pulled the restaurant chef from behind, and a scuffle broke out.

As for those two Chinese female tourists, they were scared.

They could not understand Japanese, but they could feel the atmosphere of the restaurant’s fierce competition.

“The taste of this boeuf bougignon is above the standard line. You can go to complain. When people from the Food Association come, and they will still pass the assessment.”

A quiet voice abruptly sounded.

However, no one cared about his words in the chaos.

Xia Yu put his hands in his trouser pockets, frowned slightly, and said to the waitresses who were panicking beside him, “Pull your chef away…”

The panicked waitresses subconsciously followed his instructions and pulled away the middle-aged chef.

“Calm down!” Xia Yu patted the head of the chef. The scene looked a little funny. A 16-year-old boy was much more mature and stable than the middle-aged chef.

Seeing the middle-aged chef calming down, Xia Yu repeated what he just said. “I can guarantee that this boeuf bougignon is above the standard line. You must calm down and not fall into the trap.”
