Burning Moscow

: Section 8 Highland Defense (3)

   "Combat alert! Battle alert!~~~"

A series of rapid shouts awakened me from my sleep, and I turned over and sat up. Seeing those female soldiers who were also awakened from their sleep, hurriedly put on their clothes, jumped onto their shoes, and then randomly picked up their helmets from the pillows and snapped them on their heads, picked up their rifles and ran out. I was lying down in my clothes, so I quickly put on my helmet and shoes, followed them and rushed out.

After the female soldiers ran out of the wooden house, they quickly entered their gun positions. I ran to the No. 1 gun position and saw them well trained to lift the camouflage on the anti-aircraft machine guns and reload them. Sitting on the seat, Jeanna was shaking the handle and turning the machine gun, trying to lock the enemy plane in the air through the scope.

I stood there a little bewildered, not knowing how to direct them to fight. You must know that although Lida used to be a squad leader, she has always acted as a shooter in the platoon. She has never commanded even one battle, so she has no commanding experience in her consciousness for me to learn from.

When I was still in the hospital, my level of Russian, which was once comparable to my native language, actually regressed significantly as my injury gradually improved, so that more and more obstacles appeared in the later communication with Vera. Many times I did not understand what she said, nor did she understand the new terms that I occasionally popped up with, such as television, computer, and the Internet. In order to prevent being exposed, I subconsciously reduced the number of times I talk to outsiders, and tried my best to make others think that I was originally a taciturn person.

After arriving at this high ground last night, I took the deputy platoon leader and several squad leaders around the position for a long time. It was not until midnight that I returned to the wooden house to rest. The purpose was to avoid directly facing those in the platoon. The ten female soldiers are afraid that they will pester me to ask questions, and if I talk too much, I might be exposed.

Wandering around the position for a few hours, the harvest is still quite big. I guess Karenina also thought that I got into the current position by nepotism, and I was afraid that I was not familiar with weapons. When we came to the anti-aircraft machine gun, she deliberately stroked the gun body and explained to me patiently: " This is a 14.5mm quadruple anti-aircraft machine gun. It is composed of four 14.5mm anti-aircraft machine guns. It is a combination of a gun body, a scope, a frame, and a four-wheel and two-axle seat. It is towed by a car." Although she said no I can't understand a few terms, but I still guessed what she explained based on the parts she was referring to when she explained. "The rate of fire is 600 rounds per minute, and the effective range is 2000 meters. Equipped with two magazines, each with 150 rounds of ammunition...."

"The No. 1 gun is ready to shoot." The sudden sound around me interrupted my thoughts. The Deputy Platoon Commander Karenina saw me standing next to the gun in a daze, thinking that I was panicked and panicked. He took over my command position on his own initiative and gave orders to all gun positions.

What disturbed our sleep was a German reconnaissance plane, which was hovering above the high ground. The muzzle of our anti-aircraft machine gun pointed directly at the sky. The female soldiers skillfully manipulated the machine guns, and following Karenina's command, the muzzle always followed the reconnaissance plane. The reconnaissance plane waved its wings and climbed to a height beyond the reach of the machine gun, as if it was deliberately teasing us, and ran around the high ground unscrupulously.

"Shoot!" Karenina decisively gave the order to fire.

Jeanna stepped on the button, and the bullets shot into the sky densely. The shells flew, jumping and splashing to the ground.

"No. 2 gun position, No. 3 gun position, correct the amount ahead, shoot!" Seeing that the attack on the No. 1 gun position did not work, Karenina did not hesitate to issue a series of new orders.

The No. 2 and No. 3 gun positions not far away also fired dense bullets.

The reconnaissance plane in the sky flicked its wings, raised its height, and escaped from the dangerous sky. But it did not fly far, but continued to circle in a higher position.

Looking at this arrogant reconnaissance plane, I couldn't help but make a nameless fire. I walked up to Jeanna and patted her on the shoulder: "Janna, let me try it."

A surprised expression appeared on Na's face, but she moved her body from the seat of the machine gun and let me sit in the seat of the manipulator. Although I have gradually lost Lida's original language ability, the military skills she has mastered can still be used by me. I turned the machine gun, and the gun body turned with the movement of the enemy plane. After turning the machine gun for a few times, I was able to use this weapon that I had never used before.

"Comrade platoon leader, the ammunition is loaded." Jeanna who was standing next to me reported to me.

I nodded calmly, and continued to use the scope to try to lock the self-righteous enemy plane. At this moment, I suddenly felt silent on the ground. It seemed that everyone was looking forward to me.

"Knock it down." Karenina encouraged me.

I nodded calmly, aiming at the enemy plane with all my concentration. The scope caught the enemy plane time and time again, but because of the range, I never fired and continued to follow the target patiently.

"Altitude 1500." Karenina reported while watching through the binoculars. "High 1500." Jeanna repeated loudly from the side.

   "Height 1300!" "Height 1300!"

I stepped on the cannon button with my foot, and stepped it down slowly.

   "Height 1100!" "Height 1100!"

I bit my lip tightly and turned the gun body patiently, the crosshair on the scope was impartial and caught the enemy plane.

   "High 900! Shoot!" "Shot!"

The enemy's target is getting bigger and bigger and clearer. "Go to hell~~~" I couldn't help but yelled in Chinese.

then slammed on the button of the gun, and a string of bullets rushed out of the muzzle and shot at the enemy plane. As I kept stepping on the button of the gun, dense bullets shot into the air without interruption.

The enemy plane pulled out a long black smoke behind the tail wing, turned a big bend in the air, and fled in embarrassment in the direction of the German position.

"Hit, hit!" Jeanna jumped up first, shouting frantically, and then the female soldiers screamed and cheered.

The first battle of anti-aircraft machine guns lined up in the unnamed heights ended in damaging an enemy plane.
