Bride of the Dragon Emperor

Zhu Hao can't help but smile upon seeing Xingxing smile like that.

This childhood friend of his is someone who holds a special position in his heart. Zhu hao still remembers the first time he sees her. It was on her 2nd birthday and he was four at that time.

She was so tiny and adorable. Her tiny hands which resembles a white lotus roots were raised in the air.  

The little her was so bubbly, she was always smiling sweetly at everyone. The first time he held her, Zhu hao was afraid of hurting her. Her skin was so soft as if there was no bone in it. He was afraid of breaking her arms or legs so he hurriedly pass her back to her mother, Lady Rong.

When her mother, Lady Rong died, she became sickly. Her skin was pale; she looks weak and often stayed at home.

Though she's beautiful, she was not proud. Instead, she was timid & quiet, resulting for her to be bullied by other kids.

So, as her Older Brother, he oath to defend her from those bullies.

But there are also days that he cant come and defend her. Like when Zhu hao was sick. Burning with fever, he cant go out and play with Xingxing.

He insisted on going out but his father doesnt allow him. Feeling sad, the only thing he could do is wait for his fever to subside.

Because of the cold weather, his fever lasted for four days. As soon as he was allowed to go out, he hurriedly runs to the Xiao Residence to see her. At the entrance, he was greeted by the news of the eldest miss being sick.

The servant tell him that Xiao Xingxing passed-out after playing with her 'friends.' After hearing the what happened, the child Zhu Hao immediately ran to her chamber. Seeing her unconcious and her pale complexion, he cried while he holds her little hand. Zhu hao felt an inexplicable pain in his heart. He felt guilty and sorry for not be able to come when he most certainly needs her.

That time, Zhu Hao learned the reason why Xingxing got sick. It was because other kids mocked her for not having a mother. After that, she tired herself from crying all day.

General Xiao, her father was not at the capital at that time. So she was left alone with only her servants around her.

Everytime Zhu Hao thought of that day, his heart aches.

Now, he failed to protect her again. The moment he hearead the news of her getting into an accident, he was not here, he was at Chuntian City on his grandfather's orders.

He feels soo helpless. His face was gloomy. The only thing that Zhu hao can do was to pray and hope that nothing serious will happen to her.

Thankfully, she was now okay and now smiling at him. Seeing her like this, his worried heart eases.

The moment Zhu hao heared her soft and gentle voice- calling him Older Brother after, it fills his entire heart with endless warmth.

He cant help but lovingly stroke the beautiful girl's hair with his hand. Zhu hao thought of the time when they were little kids, he always do this when he felt happy with her beside him, and in response, the little girl will only smile at him sweetly. Now, the beautiful girl infront pouted, then annoyingly complained that she's not a child anymore.

Apparently, the two didnt know that there was certain someone at the side who's angrily gritting her teeth while looking at them.

Seeing the way Zhu Hao dotes on Xingxing, she balled her hands into fist; clenching it till red marks form her nails appeared.

The moment Xiao Xingxing appeared, she was completely ignored by the his Brother ZhuHao. She initialy became a wallfower and treated as air.

Anger and Jealousy overtakes in her heart. She can't help it anymore. Muyue let out a gentle cough and the two figure immediately looked at her direction. Her angry appearance before was now replaced by a sweet and innocent smile. She excuse herself and tells them that she's not feeling well and want to rest at her chamber.

The two only nods in agreement and refrain from chatting again. Muyue felt bitter and angry by their gesture towards her. So before she go, she thought of a little scheme. A maliscious grin appeared on her face.

'No one ignores Muyue!'

Looking a little bit pale, Muyue rose form her seat. But before taking a step, she suddenly looses her balance and fell. Searching for something to hold, she held the table. But she 'accidentally' knocked the tea pot which contains hot liquid.

Sensing her scheme, Xingxing immediately rose from her seat. By the moment Xingxing noticed Muyue's twisted face earlier, she new she was upto something. Zhu Hao on the other side saw what was happening. He quickly stood-up and pulled the girl to his back, protecting  the girl from getting burned.

Sounds of broken glass was heard followed by a loud shriek from Muyue.

All her attention was focused on harming Xiao Xingxing thus, forgetting her hand was still on the table.

Her long jade-like hand instantly turned red, and a burning pain penetrated deep within her skin.

Zhu Hao hastily ordered the servants to call a doctor. Then ordered the other servants at the side to carry Muyue to her room. They quickly followed his orders and carefully assisted her.

On the other hand, Xiao Xingxing who was still silent; her deep round eyes followed their retreating figures until their silhouettes vanishes.

Witnessing the scene earlier, a realization comes to her mind. That Muyue's scheme, though its simple compared to the bigger schemes she read back in the future world, it was actually vicious and scary. Being burned by anything hot, was a painful and frightening thing. If she didnt act quickly, she might be the one screaming in the pain right now.

Xingxing suddenly felt goosebumps all over her body.

Indeed... a two-faced person is more frightening than a ghost.
