Breath Of The Flower

It's been a year since Enmei has visited the butterfly mansion, the death of his teacher has drifted him and the sisters apart. Upon standing in front of the large gate the sweet smell of flowers drifted into his nose. Unconsciously he walked the similar path to the training ground, there he heard some familiar voices.

"SHINOBU! What are you doing? Don't shove it down her throat!"

"BUT NEECHAN SHE'S NOT EATING"

"Feed her like a normal person!"

The sound led him to the kitchen where a small girl, pale and thin was being held down by an angry Shinobu and an even angrier Kanae.

"Um..", Enmei broke the tension that was building and received two glares from the sisters.

"WHAT?!" They spoke at the same time.

Enmei flinched at the loud sound and anger in their voices.

"Enmei?" "When did you get here?" They spoke at the same time again.

"Just now.. It's been a while hasn't it", he said awkwardly fiddling with the pieces of fabric on his kimono.

After a moment of silence Enmei was engulfed by two bone-crushing hugs.

"You little-", Shinobu started.

"Precious baby why didn't you come sooner", Kanae finished.

"I-I thought you needed some time alone.. and didn't want to see me.."

"How could we-", Kanae sounded outraged, "Enmei you are welcome to come anytime you want whether it be the early hours of the morning or the middle of the day".

"Just don't bother me when I'm sleeping", Shinobu mumbled but Enmei heard her clearly.

"Enmei", Kanae spoke calmly, her face held a gentle expression.

"Welcome home", Kanae and Shinobu both said.

"I-er-um I'm home.. neechan..."

Both gasped at that.

"Did he just call us neechan?" (Shinobu)

"I think he did" (Kanae)

"Please say it again!" (Both)

Enmei seemed to freeze over and his head was experiencing an overload when he suddenly snapped out of it.

"Wasn't there three people in this room? I can only sense one"

"KANAO WHERE ARE YOU???", Kanae screamed and rushed out.

"It worked on Kanae but it won't work on me my cute lil bother~", Shinobu then grabbed Enmei's shoulder.

Knowing his plan to change the topic failed, he finally uttered the words "neechan" then fled to the garden.

Needless to say the sisters were happy all day.

"Star gazing?" Kanae asked her now younger brother as she sat down next to him, in which he returned the most speechless and done face he could muster.

"Please don't joke around Kanae-sa-neesan".

"Fufufu you're so upright Enmei you should relax more".

"That's right", Shinobu agreed.

All that he could do was sigh.

"Did you put the girl to sleep? Kanao was it?". (Enmei)

"Yes, our little Kanao the girl is soo obedient and lovely it's almost concerning" (Kanae)

"It is concerning! She won't eat without getting permission, even if she's hungry" (Shinobu)

"She'll get better over time" (Kanae)

"..."

"I didn't expect you two to adopt anyone.." (Enmei)

"Neither did we..." (Shinobu)

"But that's probably what Kaa-sama would do if she was in our situation. A girl being dragged by a large man after being sold by her own parents, her eyes were so dull and face was so emotionless even her body was nothing but bones, I felt so sorry for the girl, I had to help her" (Kanae)

"Like what Kaa-sama did for us" (Shinobu)

Upon seeing the confusion on Enmei's face Shinobu giggled.

"Kaa-sama isn't our actual birth mother, our parents died when a demon attacked our home" Kanae explained.

Enmei grimaced.

"Enmei don't make that face, it's not your fault" (Shinobu)

"Are you going to officially adopt her then?", Enmei asked.

"Yes", Kanae nodded, "We'll teach her how to fight and raise her as our sister."

"I see...", Enmei replied. (A/n no he doesn't )

"But of course you'll still be our cute little brother~" (Kanae)

They both latched onto him and petted his blushing head.
