Breath Of The Flower

Chapter 11 - Family time

The days at the mansion was extremely boring was what Enmei realised at the age of 3 so it was obvious how much he hated being bedridden after returning, his over protective brother had banned him from missions until he fully healed. The two elder sister figures in his life hadn't visited him and after the death of their mother their bond seemed to weaken. However he got occasional visits from his cute little nephews and nieces.

"Oji-shama- sama is it true you defe-defeated demon?" His curious 3 year old nephew peered at his bandages.

"Yes, Kiriya-kun"

"Oji-sh-sama should be care- careful then", Kiriya was obviously struggling to use larger words despite his age.

"You don't have to say such hard words if it makes you uncomfortable"

"No! I'm the next heir, I must act like one", Enmei frowned, "does oji-sama not want to become like father?"

"Become the head of the family?"

Kiriya nodded, "Oji-sama is much better than me... you should be the next heir"

"I don't want to become the next Head because I want to support the current one and the future one. I'm the only one who has a stronger body and so I can always work as a demon slayer and see things from their perspective... do you understand?"

Kiriya looked blankly for a moment then blushed, "what does perspective mean?"

"It's like a view point, what the person sees"

"Ok, I understand", Kiriya looked both confused and enlightened at the same time.

"Oji-sama! Father has-"

The next thing Enmei knew he has next to his brother's bed, there was a rugged breath escaping from him, it was very similar to his father's. The children gasped at their father's figure.

"I'm ok...", Kagaya muttered from the bed. Signs of scars were growing down from his forehead, a hideous looking scar, unhealthy pink and looked like thousands of worms crawling beneath the skin. His eyes were focused, similar to Enmei.

"Aniue..."

"I'm afraid the disease has started to show visible signs", Kagaya did not bother to hide it, "Enmei I think it's time for you to teach me how you get around".

Enmei quickly realised his brother is blind like him. He felt glad, a sense of comradery engulfed him but was quickly washed away by guilt for thinking that way.

"I understand...", he muttered.
