Chapter 88: 4. The sequel to the lunatic asylum

Chapter 88 Four. The follow-up to the lunatic asylum

Smoke rose from the dark red cigar head and turned into a cohesive flocculent mist on the ceiling.

The blinds were drawn against the window of the office area, and an electric light was emitting a dim yellow light.

There were two figures sitting behind the desk, one of them stood up, threw away the cigar, and reached out to Lu Li.

"Hello, Mr. Lu Li, I'm Deputy Sheriff Valentine." Valentine wore a peaked cap and a dark gray woolen coat. This style of dressing made him look like a big detective rather than a deputy. sheriff.

   "Exorcist, Lu Li."

Lu Li took off his top hat and reached out to touch it lightly.

Lu Li revealed his identity outside the lunatic asylum that night, so there is no need to hide this time.

His gaze stopped slightly at the figure sitting beside Valentine, and then moved away.

"First of all, I would like to thank you exorcists for your dedication to Belfast." Valentine sat back at the desk and motioned for Lu Li to sit down as well, opening his remarks with sincerity.

This is interesting - most of the people on the back of the hill consider themselves Belfast citizens and have always called themselves Belfast people.

"Vincent has told me the situation, we still want to know some details."

Lu Li didn't speak, his eyes fell on the man beside Valentine.

   "Introduce yourself, Joel, Night's Watch."

Just like Lu Li didn't hide his identity, the man in civilian clothes didn't hide it either.

"I haven't seen you, raw face."

The smile on Valentine's face became a little stiff, and he gestured to Joel not to be so stiff.

Joel also realized the problem of his tone and waved his hand: "My fault... If you know the nature of our work, you will understand our paranoia."

This night watchman is surprisingly good-natured and normal.

Lu Li originally thought that people who face the weirdness like this would become a little neurotic.

"It's understandable now." Lu Li, who had just realized his own situation not long ago, felt the same for this vigilant approach. "So what do you want to ask?"

Valentin continued: "About Richard, do you know something about him?"

Lu Li said calmly: "I already told Officer Vincent what I knew that night. Apart from that night, Richard and I had nothing to do with each other. But if you want to know his character, I might be able to say something."

Joel smoked a cigar, but the **** didn't light up, and it went out after too long.

He didn't bother to light it again, he threw the cigar on the table, and spread his hand, "Please tell me."

"A lunatic with his own logic." Lu Li said.

Valentan waited for a while, and found that Lu Li was no longer speaking, and asked a little confused: "Is it gone?"

"Enough is enough." Joel interrupted Valentine's inquiry, frowned and said, "This means that we can't reason about Richard's purpose and the next move?"

"Yeah." Lu Li nodded, keenly aware of the sadness in Valentine's eyes.

   "What happened?"

   Lu Li suddenly asked.

Valentan and Joel looked at each other, Valentine nodded without a trace: "I—"

   "Baron, you can't go in!"

   "Miss, you can't—"

There was a loud noise outside the office door. When the eyes of the three fell on the door at the same time, the door was knocked open with a bang.

The Baron Joseph, who was supposed to be under investigation outside, broke into the office.

Stepping on an elegant cloth figure, her slender and fair legs stretched out from under her gorgeous dark red dress, and walked in front of Lu Li step by step, the strong scent of perfume enveloped Lu Li in all directions.

Baron Joseph raised Lu Li's chin with his fingertips, and his hoarse voice overflowed from his red lips: "Man, I like your eyes."

Lu Li's eyes drooped, looking directly at the man with exaggerated makeup, who gave people a thrilling beauty: "So do you want to dig up your collection?"

Baron Joseph's eyes glowed, and Lu Lipian's strange answer aroused her interest.

She wanted to say something, and Valentine shouted angrily: "You two, get Baron Joseph out of my office!"

The police officers outside the door moved. They squeezed into the office to take Baron Joseph away, but were stopped by the short butler with thick round eyes.

Baron Joseph narrowed his eyes, released Lu Li temporarily, and turned his head to drink coldly: "You bastard, stay away from me! Do you want to sue a nobleman!"

"Get rid of your own troubles and talk about Baron Joseph." Valentine sneered a few times. "We're talking about something very important, and if you don't leave, we'll add assault to a police officer and intrusion into a private place to the counts of your indictment with the Watch Township Police Department."

"Aren't you afraid of being swallowed by my anger?" Baron Joseph sneered, but when he turned to Lu Li, he turned into that sweet enthusiasm, throwing away the wink that made the heart beat faster.

Although she likes to play with men, she is not stupid. The troubled self is not suitable for new troubles for the time being.

   "Wait for me, sweetheart."

Baron Joseph blew a kiss at Lu Li, the moment he turned around, the smile disappeared, and he left the office with a cold face.

The police officers who were crowded at the door quickly made way for an exit.

   "Lulu."

stood at the door of the office, and Baron Joseph did not turn his head.

"Baron." The little butler closed the door and stood aside.

"Within an hour, I want all the information about the man inside. Oh, and after finding the address, I will send a cart of tulips directly to his house."

  …

"Mr. Lu Li, take the liberty to remind me..." Valentine was relieved by Baron Joseph's departure, obviously his confidence was not as strong as he had shown before. He looked at Lu Li with a wry smile: "...you might be targeted by her."

"Why is she here?" Lu Li asked back.

As someone who reads several newspapers every day, Lu Li is no stranger to Baron Joseph.

Valentine spread his hands and said with a headache: "If you have been paying attention to the news recently, you will find that someone is going to sue Baron Joseph. Unfortunately, the guy who sued Baron Joseph is from Watchtown."

   "Is Baron Joseph rich?"

  Lu Li was thoughtful.

"She has enough money to buy half of Overwatch, or the whole of it." Valentine smacked his tongue. Even if he was the deputy sheriff of the police station, he couldn't imagine how much wealth he could buy half a town.

"Okay, let's pause the chat about this scandalous noble." Joel said.

Lu Li nodded and asked, "So what happened?"

After the    voice fell, Lu Li noticed that the relaxed atmosphere brought by Baron Joseph's intrusion was gradually disappearing.

"Remember Vincent and the policeman that night?"

Dignity and dullness pervaded the lighted office. There was a hint of pain in Valentine's eyes, and he said in a low voice.

   "They're all crazy."
