Chapter 537: One hundred and fourteen. New tenants

Chapter 537 One hundred and fourteen. New tenants

The cloud over Belfast has not dissipated.

Although the eerie fog recedes into the deep sea with dawn, the streets no longer appear eerie wandering in the fog, only the smoke from burning all night makes the city hazy.

   But the crisis remains.

A large number of weirdness did not disappear with the weird fog. They hide in dark alleys or uninhabited houses, waiting for an opportunity.

The    revelry will continue for a few more days, until there are not many surviving humans in the city.

Anna could feel the turbid atmosphere of the monsters gathering in the sky above the city. This city is like a city of monsters.

So she didn't think it was a good idea for Lu Li to go back and take a look.

"Elm Street is on the edge of the city, so it won't be too dangerous there." Lu Li, who was being held in Anna's arms, replied.

The ingredients that Anna brought back were handed over to Remy for processing. Anna regretted not being able to cook by herself, but she had more important things to do: protect Lu Li and go to Elm Street.

Not far from Elm Street, Lu Li could vaguely see the ruins of the most glittering bustling city on the Allen Peninsula in the mist.

In the northeastern part of the city, near Elm Street, there are many boats standing aground, some overwhelmed by a house, some broken, and more inserted straight into the ground, like tombstones dozens or hundreds of meters high.

"The survivors called the shipwreck area there, saying that there are many monsters from the bottom of the sea in that area." Anna, who had been keeping an eye on Lu Li, replied.

   "Have you seen them?"

"There are many survivors. When they saw me, they would run away and hide in fear. Some of them were too weak to run and begged me for mercy... I asked about what happened last night."

This is exactly what Lu Li wanted to know: "Tell me about it."

   "Even if you don't ask."

This carnival is more than just a presence in a mist of weirdness. There are also evil spirits and even evil gods. For example, the Shadow of Pirates of Fire that Lu Li knew was an uninvited guest.

Despite the suffering that afflicted the city all night, there are still a few lucky ones who survived, if it is ignored that Belfast, once home to nearly a million people, now only survives a few thousand.

Most of them hid under the bed, in the closet, in the basement and the attic all night, until the dawn broke and the fog receded, and the wandering weirdness disappeared. They got together and planned to escape the city and go to the back of the mountain.

So the survivors know very little, mostly the clips they heard and saw during hiding or the news they got from other survivors after getting together.

The city is simply divided into dangerous areas by survivors who have left their hiding places. Despite the weirdness that roams the city, the danger zone is especially dangerous.

The shipwreck area that Luli saw is one of them.

The poor guy who lives there is the first to suffer bad luck. When the church bell rang last night, countless ships on the sea or in the harbor were thrown into those streets by incomprehensible beings.

More than half of the residents had just been woken up by the church bell and turned into flesh. Then many with the characteristics of fish, with a strong fishy smell, monsters like visitors from the bottom of the sea rushed out of the falling ships and took over there.

Only a few quick-responding residents fled the shipwreck area before they came and found a place to hide.

There should be no living people there now.

Another dangerous area is called Embers, and its original name is familiar to both Lu Li and Anna: Nameless Block.

Before everything came, Lu Li had faced the abnormality there - occasionally falling from the sky, snow-like ashes.

Now the nameless block and the surrounding blocks have fallen into ashes like snow, endlessly.

The ember zone doesn't have any spooky outlines, some survivors with nowhere to hide want to hide in to escape the spooky, and the results are obvious. Weird doesn't actively enter that area, and anyone who enters the ash zone disappears deep into the ash-falling streets, never to be seen again.

"There may be more than two dangerous areas, and many of those survivors don't know."

"Yeah." Lu Li thought so too.

Wreck and Embers are just what they know.

Anna has learned to take the initiative to touch the things around her. If Lu Li wasn't so indifferent, he might be pleased with Anna's growth.

"Also, when many people saw the strange rampage last night, some figures shrouded in black robes chanted strange prayers and walked down the street."

"A cultist?" Lu Li was thoughtful.

"No accident. Only those who believe in monsters can avoid being attacked."

In a way, people who believe in weirdness do more harm than weirdness itself.

has nothing to do with intelligence, there must be something far smarter than human beings in the weird.

The real danger of those cultists is that they were once human and knew everything about human beings.

Human structure, human character, human... gathering place.

The scary thing is that their hearts are polluted by the consciousness of the evil gods. They will not have pity and guilt in their hearts - everything they do is as they should be, for its master.

"Don't let them know our hiding place, don't make contact with them unless it finds us."

Lu Li had dealt with the evil god, and knew that every servant and dependent was the evil god's eyes. When Lu Li was exposed to his servants, he was also exposed to the evil god.

Lu Li will not underestimate any evil god, and the deep impression brought by the battle between the Swamp Mother and the Old Mother has remained to this day - he can't even stare at the sealed and petrified body of the Swamp Mother for too long.

Anna's tone was somber and chilly: "If there are weird people who dare to approach the forest, I will send them to where they should go."

Withered trees retreated, and the road of Elm Street was already in front.

What appeared in Lu Li's eyes was a blackened ruin.

A fire from a nearby neighborhood spread to Elm Street last night, and no houses survived. At this time, there were still smoke rising from several collapsed ruins.

There was no living person in the whole street, and there was no sound.

   Silence pervaded.

Not far away, Lu Li's "home" for the children was not spared.

Anna held Lu Li close to the burnt warehouse, and a rustling sound came from the collapsed gap. After a while, a charred, ugly little silhouette crawled out of the gap.

It looks like a human skeleton, but only as short as Lu Li's waist. The sutures were filled with a scorched black substance like silt, and the lower jaw of the skull protruded, revealing a row of sharp teeth.

If its body shape is similar to ordinary people, the row of sharp teeth will be very ferocious.

More scorched black figures climbed out of the gap, tilting their heads, as if sensing the presence of Lu Li.

Suddenly, the biggest one got closer, and was frightened by the charcoal that he accidentally kicked away and squeezed back to his companion. He wanted to get close to Lu Li, but he was afraid of something.

Children's fear of strangers seems to be etched into their instincts.

but mixed with the closeness to Lu Li.

"What are you going to do?" Anna asked the silent Lu Li.

These... children obviously won't hurt Lu Li, even if they become monsters.

   "Bring them back."

   "Elm Forest?"

"Um."
