Bizarre Detective Agency

Chapter 3: 3. The True Exorcist

Chapter 3 III. The True Exorcist

The calm face of a deep pool reveals imperceptible disgust, and the scene of a face flowing from the faucet is far more disgusting than the blood flowing from the faucet.

Lu Li frowned and took a half step back, watching the sticky, twisted pale face slide out of the tap and flush into the sewer.

  Whoa—

In the silent night, only the sound of water flowing continuously echoed.

The clear and transparent water flow continued for a while before Lu Li approached the faucet to turn it off.

   tick-tock-

The water flow stopped, and the surrounding area returned to the original dead silence.

Lu Li stepped back to the kitchen door, the closed door blocked the light, and the kitchen was plunged into darkness.

Back in the living room, Lu Li didn't care about the single bed in the bedroom, but rested in the chair behind the desk for the night.

Maybe it was Lu Li's calmness, or maybe it was the kitchen knife clenched in his hand, nothing happened that night.

   Nothing happened overnight.

  …

The next morning, a little earlier.

The morning mist permeated every part of Rodster Harbor, and the clouds shrouded the sky, and the gloom never dissipated.

It is different from the quiet and desolate thought, the early morning here is bustling and noisy.

After a night of silence, the residents seemed to be making up for the ten-hour silence. Smoke rises from the chimneys of the continuous houses, dried fish are hung out of the windows, workers preparing to work say goodbye to their families, the sound of the ship's whistle echoes from the port, and the aroma of breakfast permeates every street covered with bluestone.

   "Hello, Mr. Lu Li."

   "Hello, Detective!"

   "Why are your eyes black?"

As the new face of Sailor Street, Lu Li is very popular with residents, especially children.

Although no one has ever seen any emotion in Lu Li.

Lu Li nodded in response to the residents who greeted them, walked to a carriage at the end, and stepped on.

The carriage is not a van, but a convertible like a rickshaw.

"A nearby church or the exorcist's detective agency."

"Mr. 3 shillings." The groom who was squatting on the side of the road nibbling on brown bread hurriedly stuffed the residue into his mouth and said vaguely.

"Um."

Lu Li leaned into the seat, put on a black bowler hat, and hid a pair of black eyes in the shadows.

Black hair and black eyes are unique here, Lu Li didn't want to be watched too much.

The groom jumped into the carriage and drove the horses away from Sailor Street.

He swallowed the rough and dry food with difficulty, coughed a few times, tilted his head and said, "Have you encountered a ghost?"

"Um."

"Then I suggest you go to Mr. Haders' detective agency."

Lu Li, who only revealed half of his face, asked, "Why not a church or another detective agency."

"Did you come from another town? Belfast's church didn't handle exorcism a long time ago. Most of the other exorcists were eccentric or only served the nobles, only Mr Hades was open to everyone. , as long as you have money."

Except for Lu Li, everyone seems to know that there are ghosts in the world.

After being silent for a while, Lu Li replied, "Yes, I'm from another place, and this is the first time I've encountered a ghost."

"Then your hometown must be very safe." The groom's tone was full of envy.

"Can you tell me about the ghost?"

   "…Sorry sir, I can't tell you."

The groom's tone was stagnant, and he shook his head in rejection. Just like the others that Lu Li had asked before.

"Why, because I am haunted by ghosts."

"…Yes, if we talk about it too much it can change the target. Even if it's not haunted by the ghost, talking a lot will…"

The groom stopped his voice decisively.

This seems to explain why after the "exorcism" of the old couple, the ghost entangled Lu Li.

As the topic ended, the carriage fell silent.

The carriage went all the way along the street, the houses on the left side of the street disappeared, and the view became brighter.

Lu Li turned his head to the side, lost the shelter of his house, and could see the continuous roofs of the street below and the harbor where sailing cruise ships were docked in the distance. The fishing boats that have left the port are scattered across the dark sea.

Unfortunately, there is no morning sun, and the sea, which should be sparkling with water, is gray and dead, and there are no waves.

stared at the whole harbour for a while, Lu Li retracted his gaze, the whole face was hidden in the shadow under the brim of his hat.

Ten minutes later, the carriage stopped in front of a two-story building with white walls.

The streets are quiet and clean, and pedestrians are dressed in old but neat clothes, which is the opposite of the hustle and bustle of Sailor Street.

took out 3 coins and handed them to the groom. Lu Li was walking into the detective agency.

When    pushed the door, darkness and silence surrounded him.

There are several round tables on the spacious first floor, and a figure behind the innermost counter is cleaning an oil lamp.

Hazy beams spilled from the window into the brown wood floor

If you ignore the sign outside with the words Detective Agency written, this place is more like a pub that has not yet opened.

Da da da-

The leather boots stepped on the floor, and Lu Li walked to the counter.

"Does this guest have anything to entrust?" The slightly bloated figure behind the counter put down the oil lamp and handkerchief and put on a smile.

   "About ghosts."

In the next few minutes, Lu Li briefly recounted what he saw last night, while ignoring the part about his identity as an exorcist.

"You've done a good job. The fear will be turned into nutrients and make the ghost stronger. It's still weak and can't hurt people. But it may not be necessary to let it absorb more emotions."

The fat figure like a waiter grinned. In the dim light, there seemed to be some flickering light hidden between his teeth. He stretched out his palm to Lu Li: "My name is Hades, the exorcist you are looking for."

Lu Li stretched out his palm and left with a touch: "I have a question before entrusting. Besides the exorcist, is there any way to destroy the ghost."

Interested eyes fell on Lu Li: "Do you want to solve the ghost yourself?"

"Yes, if possible." Lu Li took off the top hat that affected his vision, without denying it.

"You're asking the right person. Most exorcists may yell at you to stop being delusional. I happen to be a small part of that." Hades was short, took out an object from under the counter, slapped it on the table, and pushed it to the In front of Lu Li.

   A short flintlock pistol.

Lu Li stretched out his hand, intending to take it, but one palm pressed on the flintlock gun before Lu Li.

Snapped!

Haders' palm covered the flintlock gun, the counter shook lightly, and he grinned, revealing a razor-like frenzy smile: "It's not free."

"How many."

   "2300 shillings."

   "2000."

   "Yes, as a welcome newcomer."

After talking about the transaction in a few words, Lu Li took out 4 shillings of 500 denominations and handed them to Hades, who took it with the palm covering the flintlock gun, counted the 2000 shillings, counted it, counted it again, counted it again past.

Lu Li picked up the flintlock gun lying on the counter, and a faint light suddenly appeared in front of him.

Lu Li raised his eyes and looked at Hades, who was lighting the fuel lamp, and focused his attention on the flintlock gun.

The flintlock gun body is exquisitely carved, the roses carved under the light seem to come alive and bloom slowly, and the streamlined gun body is elegant like a work of art.
