Chapter 2: Direct Knockout

“Does no one care about this matter? The noble title belongs to my mother.” Nan Feng was a little annoyed because the people in Tang Marquisate were acting too shamelessly.

“Your mother belongs to the Tang marquisate.” Mu Mu said.

Your mother belongs to… After hearing what Mu Mu said, Nan Feng was very angry, but he held his tongue.

“If I’m not allowed to go back, then what? Should I dig a pit and hop back in?” Nan Feng gave Mu Mu a piercing glare.

“No one in the Tang Manor is teaching the young master martial arts. The young master has considered going to the martial arts academy before; why not go there and discuss these matters with the young lady?” Mu Mu stated.

Martial arts, martial arts academy… Nan Feng understood the need to delve deeper into the ways of this world, as the situation remained highly intricate.

“When the time comes, the young master will be cultivating in the martial arts academy, and Mu Mu will go to the imperial city to find the young lady and explain our current situation.” Mu Mu spoke.

Feeling famished, Nan Feng chomped on the offerings brought by Mu Mu. And as he munched down the food, his thoughts drifted to the difficulties of returning to his original world, but he decided to concentrate on making it through the current predicament first.

“Going to the martial arts academy is okay, but I need to go back and kill that Tang Yuan first. Tang Yuan, I’m going to boil you up just like these dumplings!” Nan Feng belched before saying these words out loud.

“Killing young master Yuan, is this possible? There are many guards, and Young Master Yuan is also skilled in martial arts.” Mu Mu was somewhat afraid, since these kinds of matters had never crossed his mind.

“If we don’t go back, we won’t have a penny to our names. Should we suffer hardships with an empty stomach? Mu Mu, in the future, we will partake in delicious food and beverages.” Nan Feng patted Mu Mu’s shoulder and said this with a reassuring smile.

Mu Mu fell silent. He was just a young servant of the Tang marquisate, ever attentive to Nan Feng. The one who fled earlier was also a servant under their employ, and Mu Mu really wanted to call him for aid, feeling a mite fearful. But now, the servant’s silhouette had already vanished, leaving no trace behind.

After speaking with Mu Mu, Nan Feng and he made their way back to the Tang manor, sneaking along the way.

“Young master, looking at the situation at hand, it seems that Miss Qiqi has a hand in it too. I chanced upon their hushed whispers; they were deliberately trying to entice you,” Mu Mu informed Nan Feng. He was cognizant that Nan Feng was in the dark regarding these matters. Though Nan Feng did not reply to Mu Mu, he cursed “scoundrels” inwardly. Since these individuals had no sense of familial love, he would also show no mercy. For the former Nan Feng, he was a pitiable child, and that pitiable child is now no more— both Tang Yuan and Tang Qiqi mercilessly took his life.

Afraid of being discovered and causing unnecessary trouble, Nan Feng, under Mu Mu’s guidance, entered the Tang marquisate through the small gate used by servants to buy food and dispose of garbage, instead of the main entrance of the manor.

The security was tight at the Tang Manor with many guards on duty, but thanks to Mu Mu’s familiarity with the area, he led Nan Feng back to their lodgings with ease, tidying up some of Nan Feng’s robes and gathering some coins before they set out.

“Take me to Tang Yuan’s abode.” Nan Feng yanked off a leg from a stool nearby and firmly spoke to Mu Mu.

“Young Master, let us not go. We shall await the return of the young lady, and all will be settled,” Mu Mu spoke with a tinge of fear, fearing the escalation of matters.

Nan Feng shot Mu Mu a disdainful look. He would be left with unease in his heart if the matter was left unresolved. Holding grudges and seeking retribution without delay, this was the nature of Nan Feng’s temperament.

Mu Mu led Nan Feng discreetly, avoiding the watchful guards, and arrived at a corner of the manor’s garden. “Young Master, the courtyard ahead belongs to Miss Qiqi, and the path ahead leads to Young Master Tang’s abode,” Mu Mu explained.

“You wait here. I’ll take care of this little bitch first.” Upon learning that this place was where Tang Qiqi resided, Nan Feng intended to take action.

Nan Feng, an adept in the ways of martial arts, was quite nimble. And despite his current less-than-ideal physical state, he was still able to make do.

Nan Feng made a leap to the eaves of Tang Qiqi’s abode, then, using both hands and feet, slowly crawled to the top of the door frame to the lit room. At that moment, two maids walked by right beneath him.

Taking a quick look, Nan Feng discovered a woman with her back facing him, indulging in a bath within a tub.

This is my chance!

Nan Feng rolled over and fell to the ground without making a sound.

Reaching the edge of the bathtub, Nan Feng swiftly used a knifehand strike to hit the woman’s neck, rendering her unconscious.

The woman was pulled out of the bathtub and shaken to remove the water droplets from her hair and body. Nan Feng then hoisted her up his shoulder, slung the purse from the dressing table onto his waist, extinguished the lights, and left the room, before heading towards Mu Mu’s hiding place.

“Young master, what is this?” Mu Mu was a little dumbfounded.

“Don’t dawdle; just guide me to Tang Yuan’s place.” Nan Feng shot a stern gaze at Mu Mu, perceiving the latter to be somewhat feeble and intimidated by everything.

Upon arriving at Tang Yuan’s quarters, Nan Feng hoisted Tang Qiqi and climbed onto the wall.

In Tang Yuan’s courtyard at the moment, a few youths were honing their martial arts skills. One of them, slightly older and dressed in a brocade robe, was identified by Nan Feng as Tang Yuan, the one Mu Mu had mentioned.

After a while of training, Tang Yuan dismissed his several training partners and entered the hall.

Nan Feng observed that Tang Yuan’s fighting skills were still amateurish and lacked lethality. Climbing over the wall, he approached the hall without making a sound. With prior experience in covert operations and assassinations from his past missions, these actions were second nature to him.

“Hey!” Upon reaching behind Tang Yuan, Nan Feng spoke up.

“Didn’t I tell you guys to go back…” As Tang Yuan turned around impatiently, Nan Feng’s right hand swung the stool leg, hitting the other party’s neck artery and knocking him out cold.

Having knocked out Tang Yuan, Nan Feng dragged him to the bed like a dead dog and stripped off his clothes. Then he placed Tang Qiqi on the bed as well.

“Her figure is not bad, but unfortunately I don’t have much time.” Nan Feng rubbed Tang Qiqi’s body twice before sighing heavily and pushing her aside.

Nan Feng and Mu Mu thoroughly scoured Tang Yuan’s room before making their exit. Nan Feng deemed their actions not excessive, merely a means of annoying others and venting his anger. In due time, Tang Qiqi and Tang Yuan would awaken, yet they would remain unnoticed by others.

Nan Feng had their lives in the palm of his hands, but it’s not that he didn’t dare to kill; it was just because Tang Yuan and Tang Qiqi were still young, and he wouldn’t resort to extreme measures directly. Nan Feng also knew that the root of the problem laid with the elders, and if the elders didn’t have that intention, the juniors wouldn’t dare act recklessly.

When he thought about the leniency shown towards Tang Yuan by the elders of the Tang Manor, Nan Feng became truly angry. This leniency had resulted in a loss of life and was essentially inflicting harm on vulnerable and weak people.

“Tang Marquisate, I won’t be coming back. Fame and wealth are all they offer, but what I desire, I’ll earn through my own means.” Nan Feng murmured softly as he looked at the Tang Manor in the night’s shadows.

“Mu Mu, I was beaten senseless by sticks and have lost some memories. Please enlighten me on the state of martial arts and the martial arts academy. I want to know all that you know.” Nan Feng spoke to Mu Mu. He understood that to survive in this world, blending in is of utmost importance.

“Young master, didn’t you say you were going to cultivate and set the Princess as your target?” Mu Mu turned his gaze towards Nan Feng with a peculiar expression in his eyes.

“Set the princess as my target… I asked you to explain stuff, not to ask me.” Nan Feng stretched out his hand and slapped the young servant.

Right after, Mu Mu recounted about some circumstances in the Bauhinia Kingdom.

The Bauhinia Kingdom was renowned for martial arts, with its ruler, the Bauhinia King, at the helm. However, the one who stole the spotlight was without doubt the kingdom’s princess, who was both a source of pride for the country and one of its strongest martial artists.
