Back For My Daughter

424 Porridge With Gold Lotus Roo

After that, Aunt Qin also forgot about it since she wasn't blessed with a child.

But when Little Qiqi was once playing with her, the little girl crawled and went to her case and tried to open it while calling for her.

Amused as to what her LITTLE BABY was searching for, Aunt Qin had opened it and found the root which she had forgotten about after so many years.

But after she saw it she understood that her baby girl was searching for this root.

She then remembered what the old monk had told her about.

But she was wary that eating anything would cause her little baby to feel sick so she ate it with something first.

But finding that it didn't have any effect she made porridge for Little Qiqi and added some of its shavings in it.

When she was feeding the little girl the porridge the little girl also fed her a bite in excitement which she was not able to reject since it was her baby who wanted her to eat it.

But after eating, Aunt Qin found that the taste of porridge was a lot better than the porridge which she usually made and Little Qiqi also had finished her whole meal without crawling here and here as if she only had one thing in her mind, which was to eat.

With that, she would always make porridge for Little Qiqi and use a few shavings of the root after noticing that the girl had started to get healthy and much more active.

With that, after Yuan Meng left, Aunt Qin wanted to give the root to her but she was so engrossed in the sadness which she felt after Yuan Meng and Qiqi left that she didn't have the thought to give the root to her.

And today, since she was meeting her Little Baby, she remembered about the root which she would usually keep close to her and made the porridge which she usually made for Little Qiqi and brought a lot of it.

Right now, she was also astonished to see that Ye Qian was able to say such words, these were almost the same which the old monk had told her about.

Yuan Meng and Ning Wei nodded after hearing Ye Qian's explanation.

They knew that Ye Qian would never deny them of having something if there was not really a specific reason for it.

They didn't even have the thought of eating the porridge if Ye Qian had stepped them to.

But he had to say the reason because there were many people and it would look bad if he were to stop them from eating something that Aunt Qin had prepared with so lunch love.

"Hmm."

The two nodded and then glanced at Aunt Qin who was staring at Ye Qian all the time.

"Yes, I have a tiny bit of knowledge about herbs and medicines."

Ye Qian smiled wryly while scratching the back of his head.

He was bel to notice a pair of eyes looking at him with shock and disbelief.

He didn't need to look at the person because he knew that it would be no one else than his own mother, Grandma Yan.

'When did Little Qi know about herbs?'<br/><script>ChapterMid();</script>

Of course, though she didn't know much about Ye Qian's studies, she clearly knew that he had graduated in Chemical Sciences and was working as a supervisor in some chemical and medicine company.

But she clearly knew that none of this was related to the study of herbs.

'Maybe while he was gone he needed to study them and so he knows.'

She thought and nodded.

"But it would be fine if everyone just gets a taste of it right?"

Grandma Yan thought while noticing Aunt Qin's sadness.

She could understand what Aunt Qin might be feeling if Yuan Meng was not able to eat this porridge that she had made with great care for all of them.

In fact, a part of it was indeed true.

She had made so much of porridge some Yuan Meng and Ye Qian as well and for Grandma Yan.

Since they were going to meet after so long time, she wanted it to be memorable.

And though she had also thought about it, she felt that the characteristics of the herb might have diminished after so many years.

It had been more than 10 years when the old monk had given her this root and coming from a family which was well versed in business related to herbs and restaurants, Aunt Qin knew that after a said interval of time, a herb would lose its properties and strength.

They had been using many kinds of wild herbs and vegetables in the cooking of their Food Court, so she was quite knowledgeable in herbs as well.

But every time she used to ask about the herb there was only one answer which she used to get in return.

"This seems like a herb, but we are sorry, we don't know about it."

"Yes, it would be fine."

Ye Qian nodded not wanting them to feel bad for eating the porridge.

"Hmm."

"We will just have a spoonful of porridge."

Saying that Yuan Meng got a spoon and picked a small bit from the bowl and passed it to Ning Wei and so the bowl travelled a few hands before getting completely empty.

But after having a bit of the porridge everyone had their eyes closed while still mesmerised by its taste.

"UMMMM"

"Here, open your mouth."

Aunt Qin said while picking up a morsel with her hands and gently filling it in Xiao Ya's mouth.

Then it was time for Little Qiqi.

"Wow, Grandma this is so tasty and sweet."

The little girl's placed their hand on their cheeks and exclaimed while relishing the sweet and delicious taste in their mouths.

"Isn't it?"

Saying that she continued to feed the two while feeling contended after looking at their faces.

On the other chair, Grandma Yan also continued to feed Jia.

After finishing the porridge, they continued with their dinner while Ye Qian also brought them plates since they were feeding the little girls all the time.
