Chapter 16:Brick Wall

"Speak!" Bell said as she pushed the man forcefully on the brick wall of an alley.

Bianca was just standing behind Bell watching as Bell tried to get information from the man that they found out to be the last man that Torin Wald talked to before he was gone.

Bell and Bianca were both wearing a black baseball cap and black face mask to hide part of their faces.

"Damn it, woman! I was telling you the truth! I don't know where he is!" The man said. He was furious that a woman three times smaller than him is threatening and intimidating him and wary at the same time because that woman is ten times stronger than him.

And she is no doubt successfully intimidating and threatening him.

Torin Wald lived in the country's most dangerous city. The city's violent crime rate fluctuates every year. Gang-related violence such as murder, ****, robbery, and assault are very common.

It is not a safe place for girls like Bell and Bianca to roam around.

But definitely the place for a violent girl like Bell to unleash the beast inside of hers.

When they arrived in the city, they immediately went to Torin Wald's apartment but found it empty.

They decided to ask his neighbors. Some of them were welcoming but most of the time a door was slammed on their faces.

The innocent Bianca who had never been out in this kind of place was unsure what made the people there treat them that way. Were they afraid of them or are they being cautious because they were involved in a crime?

But Bell knows better than Bianca. Her years of experience as a bounty hunter taught her a lot of things that neither the school nor her Uncle Lorcan taught her.

The people in this kind of city that is struggling with crimes were living in fear. Fear for their own lives. Bell knows that some of them have one or two relatives or family members that are affiliated with gangs or a criminal themselves.

These people have seen different crimes before their eyes.

Yet they choose to remain quiet instead of reporting to the police.

Because they are afraid that these gangs will come back at them or their loved ones.

Torin Wald who established and operates his gang is popular in the place. So, Bell was sure that those people that they have talked to said that they didn't know or haven't seen Torin was lying.

The day after that, Torin left with some of his gang members.

They asked the woman who is the man that Torin was last seen talking to, the old woman just shook her head. She said that she didn't know the man's name but he has a tattoo of a scythe on his forehead.

The next day, Bianca and Bell return to the city to search for the man with a scythe tattoo until they finally find him and drag him into a secluded alley.

Bell shakes her head. "I am getting impatient." As if she was ever patient. As she raises her hand to punch the man on his stomach, she hears Bianca speak.

"Uhm... He could be telling the truth." Bianca said timidly. They have come to a decision not to mention their names while on a hunt.

Bell glanced at her shoulder to see Bianca standing three feet from her with her hands intertwined in front of her.

"Lesson number one. Do not believe everything a person says." She said then narrowed her eyes back at the man pinned on the brick wall in front of her. There was a glint in her eyes that made the man gulp his saliva.

"This person is a gang member. Torin Wald is a notorious criminal who operates his gang. As a gang member, he should know Torin Wald." Bell lectured Bianca while eyeing the man.

"But...Uncle said, no casualties." Bianca said seeing that Bell is about to make the man speak by force.

"Lesson number two. I am not one to adhere to Uncle's rule." Bell said in a cold tone.

"Hey!"

Bell and Bianca looked at the end of the alley and saw three men walking towards them.

"Stay out of this," Bell said nonchalantly then looked back at the man in front of him.

But the three men ignored her, instead, they continued walking. They stopped not too far from them and looked at the man pinned on the brick wall.

"Caleb, you okay, man?" One of them asked. That's when Bell realized that the three men were acquainted with her target.

"Yes! These girls were asking about Torin." The man replied.

One of the men standing in the middle cocked his head and grinned. "Oh yeah? You tired of living, baby?" Then he looked at Bell from head to toe while licking his lips. He raised a hand and rubbed the corner of his lips with his thumb.

Bell is wearing tight jeans and a white fitting tank top accentuating her curves and exposing her smooth milky skin.

"Why don't you let me have a taste of you first? I will make sure that you will enjoy your last minutes on this earth. Who knows you might beg me to let you live after I fuck you and keep you in my bed." A lecherous smile played on his lips after he said that.

The corner of her lips curved up behind her mask. But Bell reminds herself that Bianca is just a few feet away from her. So, the most she could do is calm herself and get this over with.

"I don't think I'm not the kind of girl that can satisfy you in bed the way you want it to," Bell said indifferently and glanced at the three men.

"How about, you give this man to me. And maybe, I can spare you." Bell continued then glared icily at the trio.

The man scoffed and started to take slow steps towards them while rubbing his palms. "Baby, I think I should brief you first." The man paused to glance at Bianca before he continued. "I always get what I want." He said then he glanced over his shoulder.

"You can share the pixie. This girl is mine." He said and that did it.

The last string that is holding Bell's patience in place was snapped. The man was obviously referring to Bianca when he said 'pixie' because Bianca does look like a pixie with her cute face and petite body.

Bianca's skin is pale. She has a small ethereal face and long blonde almost white flowy hair. If fairies really do exist, she would be mistaken as one of them.

And Bell wouldn't let these gangsters touch her little sister. They'll have to deal with her first.

In a swift move, Bell grabs Caleb's wrist and twists it on his back making his face touch the brick wall. Her force makes him stay in position and out of nowhere she pulled a string that looked like a cable wire and used it to tie Caleb's hands.

"Will you watch over him while I take care of these assholes?" Bell said, glancing over her shoulders. She doesn't doubt that Bianca though small and considered as a rookie could handle very well a man that is thrice if not four times bigger than her.

Bianca's eyes widened at Bell's cursing but she takes a step forward and keeps Caleb in place.

Bell takes a few quick steps and in a matter of seconds, her heeled boots landed on the man's stomach making him flew a few feet from her taking with him his two lackeys.

"Fuck!" The man managed to stand up quickly and lurched forward to Bell. But Bell was quicker, she managed to grab the man's wrist and twist it behind him and while holding him in place screaming in pain, her eyes caught one of his lackeys standing up and preparing to attack her.

Bell waited until the lackey charged into her. She raised her hand as soon as he got close to her and grab the lackey's neck.

The lackey seemed to be struggling to breathe and put both his hands on Bell's hand that his gripping his neck trying to remove it but to no avail. Bell kicked him and the lackey crashed on the brick wall. He fell unconscious on the ground along with some of the bricks that fall off the wall.

Without taking her hands off the first man, Bell pulled him then pushed him towards his second lackey. The two men fall to the ground. Bell quickly kneeled beside the second lackey who was still lying on the ground and hit his face using her elbow knocking him out.

While the first man was staggering to stand up was startled when Bell pinned him on the brick wall with her heel on his neck.

She thought that this man might know where Torin is in case Caleb didn't know because based on her observation, this man is well acquainted with Torin, so she kept him conscious.

"Now speak! Before I crush your neck!" Bell said in an annoyed tone.

"Catch," She takes out a knife that is hidden in her boots and throws it at Bianca. Bianca expertly caught it and nodded her head on Bell.

Bianca turned to Caleb, making him face her. After seeing Bell on the action, she found some courage and inspiration. Bianca put the knife on Caleb's neck with a stern face.

Seeing that Bianca is in control of Caleb, Bell returns her gaze at the man in front of her. "Now who will speak first?" She said while pressing her heel tightly on the man's neck.

She could hear the man groan but she doesn't care.

"Man, don't!" Caleb urged the man to not speak anything.

Hearing Caleb speak, Bianca slightly released him only to be pushed forcefully back on the brick wall. "Aargh!" Caleb coughed, he seemed to be shaken by the force.

Bell watched Bianca at the corner of her eyes. She wasn't aware that Bianca could exert such force.

The man on her heel turned paler in every second that passed by. "H-he...w-went...to...his sister."

Bell frowned. "Where?" She asked, forcing her heel on the man's neck.

"T-the...the...h-harbor!"

Bell and Bianca looked at each other with furrowed brows.
