Chapter 94:Committed to Dannie

After the announcement, Sheloah went to sit under the tree and Josh went to sit beside her. Sheloah smiled at him.

"Hey, Josh," she greeted him and Josh smiled at her as well.

"Hey. Just thought of spending some time with you since Tyler's resting with Alice," he said and Sheloah giggled a bit.

"I see that Tyler and Alice are quite developing well," she commented and Josh chuckled a bit as well.

"I know, right," he answered and Sheloah frowned when she noticed that Josh's right arm had a big bruise on it.

"Are you okay?" Sheloah was obviously concerned for her friend.

"I'm okay. I had this because I protected Dannie and it's worth it," Josh said quite proudly and it made Sheloah frown even more. Because of his love for her, Josh clearly didn't care about himself.

"Even then, Josh. I'm worried that in just a blink of an eye, you would trade your life for her safety," Sheloah said, concern evident in her voice. Josh just punched her shoulder a little, nudging her not to worry too much.

"I told you… it's okay!"

Sheloah knew Josh very well. He acts tough and happy on the outside but she knows that deep inside, he's the one who's hurting. However, she can't deny the fact that Josh was really happy when it came to protecting Sheloah. I guess this is what people call unconditional love.

"I know, I know! You're so annoying," Josh commented and he stood up after talking with his only female best friend. "Good night, Sheloah. I'll be visiting Dannie now. She couldn't walk properly because she sprained her ankle a while ago," he added and he immediately left, knowing Sheloah would nag him again. This made Sheloah roll her eyes at Josh's back.

"You're so committed to Dannie," Sheloah shouted and Josh looked back, shouting back at her.

"Just like your commitment to Veon!"

This had taken Sheloah aback. When she stopped talking, that was when Josh had laughed out loud as he ran towards the location where Dannie is.

As Sheloah rested her back on the tree's trunk behind her, she saw Shannara approaching her.

"Sheloah, have you rested enough," she asked as she sat right next to her.

"Yes. And you? How're you doing with Glenda and Isobel," Sheloah asked and answered and Shannara nodded at her before she spoke.

"Good. They're fun to be with," Shannara commented and this made Sheloah smile. "You have quite a lot of friends, huh." This made Sheloah look at her, quite surprised.

"Not really! People thought I have a lot of friends, but not really. I just formed some bonds now," Sheloah said and Shannara arched her brow, curious.

"You don't trust other people?" Sheloah showed a sad smile upon hearing Shannara say this.

"Actually, I don't trust people easily because most of them talk to me only when they need it. Sometimes, when you try to open up to them, you see them as a friend but in the end, they back stab you," Sheloah explained and this made Shannara nod at her slowly, understanding what she meant.

"I see," Shannara said then she hugged both of her knees. "You're not like the others, Sheloah. Even if you choose to be alone, you're still strong," she added and this made Sheloah scoff.

"That's what you think. Deep down, I'm actually concerned about establishing a harmonious relationship, y'know," Sheloah said and this made Shannara smile at her.

"I guess we still have to understand each other more," she said but then suddenly, someone from their camp screamed.

Shannara and Sheloah quickly stood up when they heard the scream. They looked at each other and then ran towards the location where they heard the scream.

Dean had met them halfway and the two girls noticed that the place had run amok. The students and parents were now running from different directions. This made the two girls panic as they waited for Dean to explain to them what had happened.
