Army of True Salvation

Chapter 91:Couldn't Protect Them

Sheloah looked at the time and it was already 7:23 in the evening. While they were travelling to Tarlac, there were some zombies appearing from time to time and they would kill them if they try to harm the group. All of their bullets were almost consumed so they had to ignore some zombies along the way. This, however, worried Sheloah.

She sighed. "Veon, I'm worried," she said but Veon still continued driving towards their destination, running over some zombies.

They got curious when suddenly, the bus of the parents stopped. Sheloah and Veon were surprised when they saw the bus of the students hit a tree, almost hitting the car Sir Erick and Sheloah's uncle was in. Suddenly, Sheloah received a call from Shannara.

"A zombie had entered the bus when they broke through a window! Some of your classmates had turned into zombies!"

This made Sheloah shake in fear and in panic. Veon had also heard what Shannara had said since it was in loud speaker.

"Damn!" Veon hit his steering wheel in frustration. "We need to settle this!"

"Let our classmates out and lead them inside the parents' bus," Sheloah commanded then she turned off the call as she got her katana, preparing for battle.

Veon and Sheloah saw that the bus where the students are now had bloody windows and the students who survived ran outside to escape. Veon and Sheloah went out of their car as well to assess the place.

"I'll approach the parents. I'll tell them that they have to help the other students enter their bus. Tyler's even there and he can't move that much!" There was worry evident in Veon's voice.

Sheloah's uncle and Sir Erick went outside of their car and hurriedly approached the two. They were equipped with their guns and they started attacking the zombies who were about to attack the other students.

Sir Erick took a peek and in just a glance, he had caught on with the situation. Sir Erick threw his gun at Shannara and she had successfully caught it.

"Use mine. I will help the students who're injured," he said and Shannara nodded. She started attacking the zombies the moment she received Sir Erick's gun. Sheloah's uncle also prioritized the safety of the students so he helped Sir Erick carry them towards the other bus.

Sheloah and Shannara's back had bumped each other and they were both catching their breaths, tired of the battle they're in.

Sheloah looked around and her eyes reddened when she noticed that some of her classmates now had turned into zombies. She found it difficult to kill them so she relied on Shannara to do the finishing blow on her classmates.

"I'm sorry, Sheloah," Shannara suddenly said and this had caught Sheloah's attention. "I couldn't protect them." Sheloah shook her head the moment she heard Shannara's apology.

"You don't need to apologize. We just do what we can. We can't do anything about it anymore. It already happened," Sheloah said and she sighed as she started attacking her classmates who had turned into zombies. She now had the courage to face them compared to what she had felt a while ago.

Killing those zombies who were once her classmates hurt Sheloah very much. They were part of their group and had an important part in her life. She knew that she had no choice but to put them out of their misery in a hard way.

It was unavoidable.
