An Ton's Journey

Chapter 98 - Bob took over. Send help.

Ghm...

Well, you remember when I told you that I was the zombie?

It's a problem in and of itself. My body is slowly degrading, and yesterday my stomach bursted out, creating a hole in my body.

And all the blood, meat, and food flew all around the room, some even fell inside pc, forcing me to order another one.

As of today, I would need to be careful with how I eat. As for why I need to eat, it's because I feel hunger and can somehow digest things in what is left of my body.

I never really leave my house, and especially Don't go outside the walls that limit view of my house.

Like, all deliveries are left at my door, as I'm not willing to even risk getting seen as zombie.

~ few weeks later ~

I found out more about this zombie virus. It looks like it's not just a virus, like in old movies, but something more complicated.

There are zombies with no flesh that can walk and attack. Also, it seems that every zombie degrading much slower than they supposed to, like simple dead body.

As for anyone like me, I read nothing trustworthy. There were people writing that they were zombies that didn't turn, but ' Fact checkers ' proved that these people lied to attract attention.

As for me, I'm not going to talk to anyone about it. I know what happens with likes of me! I watched movies!

I'm smart!

Also, even if no-one believes me, it would attract attention to me that would result in me being captured and experimented on, or simply killed.

I watched movies! I read news! No-one would care about a single boy that is a danger to society, especially in such dangerous times.

And especially in Russia. I would most likely be killed by random haters Even before government take action. Russia is not a peaceful place for anyone different.

As for how Russia fights off the infection? Well.

Army and a uncaring government = kill on sight.

Any opposition to army? Death.

Any incompliance? Death.

~ three years since Bob's dream~

Well. At least it was like that for the first three years. While army still had enough willing people and scared citizens.

But with time, as economic situation around the world worsened, and only some big and important places were still holding on, people rebelled even in Russia. A country where a lot of people were being brainwashed from young age by the government and could hardly even think about it.

But there is a limit to everything.

Especially as greediness of rich crossed the line for too long. people couldn't survive for long in this condition, so some conscious wealthy people and masses of people rose.

And from inside out, harshly and rapidly killed many greedy bitches.

As for me, I am unbothered by anyone and anything. I am still living my life safely and securely. Who knew that killing fellow zombies would be easy. They didn't react to anything I do with them, so I had no need to worry about anything except random strugglers that bȧrėly ever appear around these places.

Well. unlike movies, people still were not completely eradicated. And satellite internet helped it alot.

~ ten years ~

Humanity couldn't be counted as the species that lived on all continents anymore.

There were couple of cities that were filled with hundreds of thousands people.

How they survived?

Well. they watched movies and didn't follow the trend of walking outside in a t-shirt and jeans while swinging bat or a metal stick.

Also, governments were partially prepared for such an outbreak type. Except for details like any skeleton could rise and bite you or just pierce boots with a bone of a dead person, infecting anyone through the smallest scratch.

As for me, I lived far from these cities. Cities were established in places where they could grow food easily and live without much cold weather.

~ 25 years ~

World changes with time.

It's balance is now absolutely different compared to before.

Now, resources such as oil were not easy to get. Most of the technical restoration went to make food, weapons and automate everything in a way that would be working for as long as possible.

Infection still existed, but infected groups were mainly far away from any settlement.

Surprisingly, I, as a skeleton, survived without much troubles. Except for some difficulty of falling ceiling. Fuck the rain and builders.

I, don't really care, but my pc cares.

~ 50 years ~

Im bored.

I don't care about humanity anymore.

I've done many things.

~ 100 years ~

I found out that I like climbing in difficult places. I climbed Everest.

My bones grew thicker. For some reason, unlike normal bones, mine are connected like spine. Who knew that it's possible.

I returned to my house after a long absence.

It seems that very few things survived passage of time.

~ 128 years ~

I saw first human in decades.

It seems that I approached their territory, so I decided to hide my body by wrapping it in a lot of things.

I managed to walk inside the town without anyone noticing. Am I too strict with myself? I spent years trying to understand current world of humans.

~ 150 years ~

I saved a kid that was left out in a forest. I decided to save him.

Left him at an orphanage. It should be enough.

~ 160 years ~

I killed my first human. He tried to kill me because I didn't say sorry. I am currently in an Asian zone now.

~ 200 years ~

Humans were strange.

There were cities with extremely advanced tech on one continent, and kind of old-fashioned world on another.

Technology in an advanced places were surprisingly advanced.

~ 300 years ~

I saw magic.

For the first time in my life.

~ 400 years ~

Magic knowledge began spreading around the world. Mostly inside underdeveloped zones, while technologically advanced didn't care.

~ 500 years ~

Many unnatural things were happening everywhere. I mean, natural.

For 50 years new legends and powers were appearing all around the world. Magic. Chi. Wizardry. and much more.

People saw angels and demons.

But it all was gradual process.

~ 700 ~

I was being hunted for being a skeletal monstrosity. My body could easily survive heavy impacts and my experience helped me to escape many times.

~ 750 ~

I was captured. I tried to communicate with them, but they didn't give me a chance.

I wish I could use magic. But It's impossible.

~ 900 ~

I was used as experimental subject for who knows how long. My bones regrew themselves after being cut off. It's kinda strange, but their experiments made it possible.

I'm being held in a lab.

~ 1000 ~

For more than 200 years I saw many scientists. Magicians. Sorcerers. Wizards. Taoists ...

I don't feel pain, but I'm tired of living such a life.

Dor first hundred or so years I was interested. After that, I began learning what I could from their experiments. Some scientists even taught me present language. It was extremely difficult, but I managed to communicate with them, and they were obviously indifferent. Except for few people.

~ 1100 ~

Everyone died long ago. I tried to get out, but thick enchanted metal walls and gates stopped any attempts.

~ 1337 years ~

I've been hitting these gates for hundreds of years, and finally I could see a little difference. 1mm deep indentation could be seen at a place where I was hitting.

It would've been much easier if I could hit stronger.

~ 1500 ~

I've been hitting the same place with ridiculous abandon and concentration. I didn't think it was possible, but I felt myself getting stronger.

~ 2000 ~

I noticed that enchantment was getting dimmer compared to other walls when I hit.

~ 3000 ~

Enchantment was supported by whole facility. Thankfully I could break myself without worrying.

Parts of my body regrew countless times. I tried hitting it with all parts of my body, but I only managed to create hills of bone parts.

~ 5000 ~

* Ding *

* Crash *

I Did it?

I DID IT!

I finally broke enchantment on the gate, making the whole facility only physically protected from outside world.

~ 5555 ~

I broke out of it.

Doors, being a massive five meter thick vault doors, held for a long time.

But, they still couldn't be held me in forever. Time is on my side.

In front of me I could only see stone. Yep. Stone. I've been inside for who knows how long.

Stone is nothing to me!

~5559~

I broke through kilometres of stone. I'm finally outside. Yes. outside.

After my time in the lab, stone was soft like sand for me. I easily dug myself through, but I didn't expect for this lab to be so deep.

~5560 ~

I've been laying in one position for a year, enjoying the sky, sound of nature, and freedom to move anywhere I wanted to.
