Alien Knights

Chapter 295: Leaving

Alfonso brought a large amount of aid, including 20 tons of food, 10 boxes of medicine, 150 canvas tents, weapons and arrows, some living supplies and building materials, and of course 27 guard knights under Todd's command, and their alien horses.

The hilly pile of food and supplies in the middle of the ruins stunned the gladiators and tribal people.

Under the guard of well-equipped and heavily guarded guard knights, no one dared to step forward to touch these things, until Todd, who returned from the soul space, shouted to everyone: "Why are you still standing there?! Hurry up and move things."

The knights turned their eyes to their commander, Alfonso, the parasite on the keel made the sound of a rattlesnake's tail, and the latter just nodded slightly.

The knights moved their feet and figures, and no longer blocked the passage of carrying supplies.

Seeing that the gladiators and clansmen began to organize their supplies, Todd pulled the five people, Rachel, Ackerman, Casper, Fried, and Minnie, into the soul space and began to give a series of tasks.

The figures of the people appeared in the underground temple. Todd sat on the throne and waved his hand to show the general plan of the Froststone Tribe in a three-dimensional projection.

"Before winter comes, we will repair the wooden house here first. In addition, four watchtowers will be built at the corners of the basin." Todd moved his hands in the air, zooming in and rotating the three-dimensional map using motion sensations: "There is no need to build other functional areas for the time being, and a batch of cement will be sent to the tribe soon. By that time, all existing wooden buildings will be replaced with cement buildings."

Ackerman asked in a daze: "Cement?"

Todd pinched his temples: "Don't worry about what cement is, anyway, it's a very convenient building material."

Turning his head to Fried, a barbarian veteran, Todd said: "There is still a period of time before winter. Fried, you organize some people who are familiar with the surrounding area, and absorb those fleeing tribesmen and scattered residents into the Froststone Tribe."

Todd then turned his attention to the old shaman Minnie: "The gathering and management of the tribe will trouble you."

Seeing the old woman smiling and nodding, Todd breathed a sigh of relief, and then said to Ackerman: "You have experience in managing villages, so I will entrust you with the task of rebuilding the camp. Organize all the personnel that can be mobilized, and when winter comes, build residents' residences as soon as possible to ensure that they will not sleep in the snow."

Casper was placed at the end, and Todd said to him: "The gladiators used to live in the 'red circle'. They were not soldiers or civilians. They were a special group of unstable people. Casper, you are safe, bold and careful. I need you to pay attention to every move of the gladiators to ensure that there will be no problems with this group."

Casper said suddenly: "Lord Boyle, when it comes to gladiators, there is a problem right now."

"But it doesn't matter."

"Many gladiators have been homesick since they escaped from the "Red Circle". They are eager to return home to reunite with their relatives. Although the road is blocked by heavy snow and it is difficult to travel, no one can guarantee that these people will not take the risk to go back."

Todd pondered for a while, looked at Casper and said in a deep voice: "I'm afraid you haven't finished your sentence. What you really want to say is that once many gladiators leave, they will never come back."

Casper lowered his head, his voice could not hear any emotion: "It is indeed possible."

Todd leaned his back on the seat, closed his eyes and meditated for a while, and said, "I will find a way about this issue."

Hearing this, Kasper stopped talking.

After clapping his hands vigorously, Todd pointed to Rachel who was beside him, and said to the other four people: "Let me introduce, this woman is named Rachel, and she is my assistant and my agent. Regarding the coordination of the three parties, the gladiator, the tribe, and the troop you saw, she will be in charge of handling the relationship between the three parties during my absence."

Ackerman was taken aback, and then hurriedly asked: "What do you mean by not being there anymore?!"

"I'm going to a distant place, and I may not be able to come back for a while. But I will keep in touch with you all the time. Every day when the sun goes down, I will call you here to arrange and handle affairs."

Fried took a step forward, and said to Todd in a pleading tone: "But, you are needed here!"

The latter sighed: "I'm also needed there..."

Looking at the construction scene in full swing in the camp, and listening to the laughter from time to time, Todd sat on a big rock, thinking carefully about the next action.

"You arranged jobs for everyone in this camp, but you forgot one person."

Todd looked back at Rachel who was walking slowly, with a puzzled look on his face: "Who?"

Rachel raised her chin not far away, and Todd looked in the direction she pointed, and a sad woman in a black robe came into his sight.

"She betrayed her master and her clansmen. I'm afraid there will no longer be a place for her in this world."

Hearing Rachel's words, Todd's head began to ache again: "You have to figure out one thing, she did this because of Boyle!"

Rachel looked around pretendingly, and asked "Puzzled": "Boyle? Is there anyone named Boyle besides you?"

"This kind of evil is deceit!" Todd snapped at Rachel, lowering his voice.

The latter looked into his eyes and said tit for tat: "In my opinion, this kind of behavior is called kindness."

Looking at Todd's uncertain face, Rachel softened her tone: "If you refused to help her, why did you bother to save her in the first place? Deirdre, who has no relatives, might as well be freed from death at that time."

Todd gritted his teeth and said bitterly, "Rachel, what on earth are you trying to do?!"

"you guess."

After leaving these words, the woman stood up, patted the dust off her clothes, smiled and walked away.

After some ideological struggle, Todd moved to Deirdre step by step.

Looking at that delicate and refined face, Todd opened his mouth, but couldn't say anything, only one thought kept echoing in his mind.

"She's Boyle's fiancée..."

"You've changed a lot, you've become like a stranger..." Deirdre sat on the ground with her arms around her knees, glanced at Todd, and said quietly.

Todd sat down beside her, looked up at the sky, and let out a long sigh.

"Do you think I'm a burden?" Deirdre buried her head in her arms, trying to suppress her emotions: "If that's the case, I can leave and completely disappear before your eyes..."

Hearing this sentence, Todd had an illusion for a moment, thinking of his girlfriend from the previous life.

The opening statement of the latter's quarrel with him is actually very similar to this passage.

Pulling himself together, Todd comforted her and said, "Deirdre, I never thought you were a burden. On the contrary, you are actually our hero! Think about it, if you didn't use death to deny the king's frame, all of us would live forever in the stigma of injustice because of the fabricated treason."

"In a sense, you proved our innocence with your life."

Deirdre raised her head slightly, the expression on her face was no longer sad and sad, but she was a little unbelievable: "What you said...is it true?"

Todd raised his eyebrows and said, "It's absolutely true."

Deirdre's face broke into a smile, and she opened her arms and hugged Todd.

The latter's body froze in place immediately, stretched his arms, and gently pushed the doubtful Deirdre away.

Todd stood up and untied the dagger on his waist and the shield on his back: "Soon, I will set off for a distant place. Before that, I entrust the weapons to you temporarily, and take good care of them before I return."

"Far away?! Where are you going? When will you be back?"

Facing Deirdre's question, Todd did not answer, but solemnly handed the sword and shield into Deirdre's hands.

With everyone watching, Todd walked into the middle of the camp and said loudly, "My brothers and sisters, please hear me!"

"Just a few days ago, we were nothing more than a group of slaves with no future, prisoners waiting to die in prison, but today, we have the two most precious things in life. One is freedom, and the other is - stability!"

"Maybe someone will ask, there is no city wall or tower here, how can it be considered a safe shelter?! Maybe there are people who are thinking about when they can leave here and find a corner where there is no one, like a mouse in the gutter, and live the rest of their lives!"

"However, I want to tell you here that the land under your feet will be a home to live and work in peace and contentment! It is also the starting point of an immortal empire! If you don't believe me, look at the majestic army beside me. They are my allies. These people will stay here and defend this land to the death!"

When Todd said this, he put his right thumb and index finger in his mouth and whistled towards the sky.

A few seconds later, a clear cry came from the sky, and a strong and ferocious giant griffin broke through the clouds and rushed towards the camp.

While everyone was screaming and panicking, the griffin landed beside Todd. To everyone's surprise, the big bird actually rubbed his cheek affectionately with its head.

Todd, who turned over and rode a griffin, said loudly to the others: "Not only this army, but I will travel far south to find more allies to protect our freedom and stability together! If you believe in me, please stay and build our homeland together!"

Amid the exclamation of everyone, the griffin flapped its wings vigorously, one person and one bird slowly rose into the air and gradually disappeared into the sky.
