Alexander Prince - Half Blood Potter

Transfiguration one of the classes that we share with the Gryffindors. As I entered I see a cat sitting on the table and I grin. Leaning over towards it I whisper "Good morning professor" then I walk off of course I took the chance to sit next to my brother.

Ron barged into the room with a boy, I think his name was Seamus. "We got lucky Looks like McGonagall is late too." said Ron but then the cat jumped from the table and changed to McGonagall mid air and then stepped up to the boys "Maybe Mr. Weasley I should change you both into pocket watches then maybe one of you will be on time."

"W-we got lost" mumbles seamus

"Then perhaps a map. I trust you won't need one to find your seats" You know a map is actually a good idea. A lot of first years, I have noticed, have no idea where they are going in this castle. Maybe I could make a spell that creates a pulse of magic like sonar and then-

"Now today you wil be learning to turn matches into needles" Welp my thought process got cut off. We are all handled a small box of match sticks. I just tap the match with my finger and watch it change. Then I tap the box causing the rest of the matches in the box to change. But I see harry only managed to turn the match into metal with his wand.

"Try to visualize the change in your mind and don't forget what I told you about intent. Will it to change." Harry nods and does as I say and bam new needle. Seeing her has a handle of it I stand up

"Mr. Prince why are you leaving your seat?"

"I already transfigured my match professor. I thought I could help some others since I am finished." She walks over and sees one perfect needles and a box of needles, as the box was open.

"I see. 5 points to Slytherin and I will award you another 2 points for any you can help make a needle before class ends."

"Ah professor he already helped me with my matches." She looks over at Harry "Very well 2 points to Slytherin and 2 to Gryffindor for being the first to transfigure your match Mr. Potter."

I proceed to help Daphne, Tracey, Blaise, and Theo with theirs earning SLytherin 8 more points. Then I head over to Teddy who is partnered with Ron. I watch the two try and transfigure the match "Are your wands matched to you properly"

"What do you mean" Snapped ron. He is a bit hostile since I am a slytherin

"I mean your wands don't seem to be working well for you." I think rons has a bit of unicorn hair sticking out

"M-my wand belonged to my dad" says Neville, the big ol teddy bear he is.

"Who told you to use your dads wand?"

"My gran. She says that I should use it to honor him a-and be a great wizard like him"

"Okay did your Gran get her wand at Olivanders?" Teddy nods "Well then she should know that the wand chooses the wizard. I mean Olivander does say that to all his costumers. So just because it is your dads wand doesn't mean it will work for you." Ron grumbles something "Yes Ron?"

"I got my brother Charlies old wand..."

"Well you both need new ones then or else your spells will never be as powerful as they could be but for now" I began to instruct them like I did the others. It took them a while longer but by the end of class, quite literally seconds before the class ended for ron, both of them managed to get a needle thus earning Slytherin 4 more points. The Book Worm also managed to make a needle even without my help.

Herbology was an interesting class, if you like working with dirt. Teddy seems to be in his element in this class even Harry doesn't need my help here, then again he worked on his torturers- I mean aunt's garden for years so he picked up a thing or two I guess. It was kinda cool seeing a Snap Dragon that actually tried to bite you.

Charms was rather boring. We didn't use any spells only learning wand motions instead. I like Flitwick though. He seems very jovial.

Wednesday the Twins managed to remove the papers from their robes. On Thursday they got me back with something that made me only speak in Sonnets but that didn't bother me instead I used my new found poetical prowess to flirt with that Cute Pink Puff. I think she is warming up to me.

Friday I returned a prank to the twins, I keep using muggle pranks on them which makes it funner. I connected their pants with a set of whoopee cushions that would inflate and deflate themselves at random periods. So people would think the twins were passing gas all day, I also hid the whoopee cushions so they can't cancel the magic by destroying them (I stuck them under the Gryffindor table with a sticky charm).

My plan is working too. Because I hang out with Gryffindors at lunch and dinner the Gryffindors have warmed up to me. We even have a puff named Susan Bones sitting at our table now. Her Aunt is the head of the DMLE I am told. Also Lee Jordan, one of Martha- I mean Fred and Georges friends.

The Slytherins are doing their job as some of them will sneer at me, sometimes lightly bump me, and make remarks about me being friends with Gryffindors is making the other three houses warm up to me quicker. What everyone else sees is a friendly and helpful Slytherin who loves his brother and can take a joke who is also shunned by members of his own house for the very same reasons.

I also noticed that muggle borns know very little of wizarding culture and traditions and likewise purebloods and most half bloods know little of the muggle world. I'm thinking of petitioning a study group to rectify these issues. Also I managed to get my four slytherin friends into muggle music all four told me they want a music player.

After breakfast, and seeing my prank worked, we had double potions with Gryffindor. I switch spots with Harry so he sits with Blaise and I am sitting next to Teddy. I offered this because Teddy seems super nervous and he is also afraid of Snape. I don't want him to get blown up. Blaise doesn't mind since we eat lunches and dinners together. Theo is already good at potions, so he tells us. Daphne and Tracy always work together.

Potions class took place down in one of the dungeons. It is colder here than the rest of the castle and is quite creepy with the pickled animals floating in glass jars all around the walls. Snape started the class by taking the roll call though he paused at Harry's name.

"Ah yes," he said softly "Harry Potter. Our new... celebrity."

Snape finished calling the names and looked up at the class. "You are here to learn the subtle science and exact art of potion making," he began. He spoke in bȧrėly more than a whisper, but they caught every word, after all no one wants to get on Snapes bad side by not paying attention. "As there is little foolish wand waving here, many of you will hardly believe this is magic. I don't expect you will really understand the beauty of the softly simmering cauldron with its shimmering fumes, the delicate power of liquids that creep through human veins, bewitching the mind, ensnaring the senses... I can teach you how to bottle fame, brew glory, even stopper death. If you aren't as big a bunch of dunderheads as I usually have to teach."

"Potter! What would I get if I added powdered root of asphodel to an infusion of wormwood?" He says looking at Harry

"A powerful sleeping potion known as Draught of Living Death, sir"

"It seems you opened a book before coming here" I can only roll my eyes. Him and aunt Irma would come over to the house sometimes to teach us about potions so of course he knew Harry knew that.

"Mr. Prince where would you look if I told you to find me a bezoer"

"Probably in your potions cabinet or the Apothecary down in Diagon Alley." Snape glared at me "But a bezoer can also be found in a variety of creatures but the best and most commonly found are ones found in the stomach of a goat as the bezoer is too small to be of use when found in other creatures."

"Very good Mr. Prince. 5 points to slytherin" I can hear some of the Gryffindors mumble about biased treatment.

"That's not fair! Harry answered his question right but didn't get any points" Ron said loudly.

"5 points from Gryffindor for shouting at a teacher. Tell me Weasley what is the difference between monkshood and wolfsbane?"

Ron shifts in his seat "I-i don't know. I think Hermoine knows though" Book worm was practically standing with her hand raised.

"Sit down" Snape tells her sternly "Draco answer the question I gave Mr. Weasley"

"They are the same plant sir. Also known as aconite" He said smugly.

"5 points to Slytherin. Well why aren't you all writing this down" He says to the class who immediately began writing down the questions and answers from the 'pop quiz'

"Today we will be brewing a cure for boils. Instructions are on the board make sure to follow them."

After adding the horn slugs I had to grab Teddy's wrist "Not yet" He was about to add the porcupine quills. I carefully move the cauldron from the fire "Now add them. Good now stir five times clockwise but be gentle about it, not too fast." I nod then I wave my wand over the mixture and pink fumes began to rise from the cauldron.

"Very good Mr. Prince. 5 points for helping another from making a mistake." He has yet to give even a single point to Gryffindor. Then again I don't think he ever gives points to Gryffindors. Other than Ron and Seamus who got a zero for the day, their potion started to fume out purple smoke halfway through, everyone else did well. As we were leaving I heard Snape whisper 5 points to gryffindor. My guess is he is secretly giving them to Harry.

"A-alex." Teddy began as we left potions "Thank you for your help and um the advice on Trevor. He hasn't tried to escape since I mad that habitat for him"

"Now problem teddy bear" Teddy sighs it seems he is resigned to the name now "You can help me out on herbology sometime, you seem to be a prodigy with plants" Teddy's face turns slightly red. "By the way I am having a review in the library tomorrow." I inform Harry and Teddy "I will be discussing some things that happened during the week and we can talk about our classes. So invite your friends or people who may be interested. But make sure to tell Gred and Forge, they are older and can probably help us out." I tap my chin "But let them know the prank war will be on hold during the time."

My group of Slytherin Friends catch up "Break Room?" The four nod

"W-what break room?" Asked Teddy

"Well me and these four took over an empty room and made it into a break room so we didn't have to return to the common room during breaks. Want to join us?" I asked Harry and Teddy

"Sure.. We are free til Lunch anyway" Harry immediately agrees and Teddy decides to join along as well since he doesn't have anyone else he talks to in Gryffindor.
