Accident Prone

215 Trading freedom for a relationship 3

Quentin's eyes flashed in amusement when he recognized that her frustration is mixed with lust. "Oh, you want to do something here? Other than the television, I don't have many things that can provide entertainment because I don't usually bring people into my apartment. We can talk and get to know each other. Or you want to go somewhere, but not to be a date? Don't tell me that you want to go to Liz's place now…"

Brianna narrowed her eyes at Quentin, and she scrutinized him while wondering if he is super-oblivious or faking ignorance on purpose. She started yanking his shirt, untucking it from his pants.

Quentin chuckled and grabbed her hands to stop her movements. "Didn't you say that you want to take it slow? And there was something about small increments."

Brianna looked at him in disbelief. Why is he bringing up the points of taking it slow and small increments? Does he expect them to hold hands only? Or not to go beyond kissing? Isn't it too late for that? "Are you really going to deny me this?"

Quentin cupped her cheeks with his palms and kissed her lightly on the lips. "I can't make myself deny anything to you… my girlfriend."

Brianna's mind exploded. Other than 'date' and 'dating', he used the 'girlfriend' word! But his lips were back on hers and his palms glided over her body skillfully while he removed her clothes in fluid movements, and she forgot why she was upset.

Quentin kissed her slowly and thoroughly, and his every move conveyed a message of longing mixed with lust.

He was reminding himself not to rush because Brianna is finally in his room, removing his clothes, willing to acknowledge that what they have between them is more than just a series of hookups, and she didn't complain when he called her his girlfriend.

Brianna spread her arms around Quentin and ran her palms against the firm muscles of his back, and she melted in his kisses which reminded her that he is a ten, and probably more than that. He is so good that she will need to recalibrate her scale, or maybe create a separate category only for Quentin because he is absolutely dominating in every way possible.

This is Quentin, a man who is shattering all her previous beliefs and rebuilding them into one where a relationship is a possibility.

They fell on the soft mattress of his bed, and for the first time, she allowed someone to have complete control because she knew that it will be good. The best she ever had.

This was not the first time they shared a bed, but this was different. It was slow and more intense than ever before, allowing her to savor every inch he is giving her.

Brianna wondered if this is the difference between a hookup and an intimacy that a relationship provides. She wondered if this is the difference between sex and making love. And she had many more thoughts, but they all got washed away in the persistent waves of pleasure which swept over her with his every thrust, surrounding her mind in a storm of rapture from which she couldn't escape from even if she wanted to. And just like that, she was entirely his.

Later that morning…

Quentin is holding Brianna under the dark gray satin sheet of his bed. Her back is facing him, and he is enjoying the feeling of her soft skin pressing against his chest.

This moment, the two of them laying down in the bed in silence and breathing together is perfect.

"Are you going to the party this afternoon?", Brianna asked after some time.

He confirmed. "With you."

"I will need to get something to wear. My clothes are at Liz's place."

"There is plenty of time. If you don't find anything you like in the other room, we can stop by Liz's apartment on the way to the party."

Brianna was surprised that Quentin didn't mention his extensive network of fashion designers and that he can make the perfect outfit appear magically (with help from Kendra). But she didn't want to mention that because she didn't want him to call Kendra. Bri does not care if Quentin calling Kendra is messing up with her holiday, that is between Quentin and Kendra. But the idea of Kendra coming into this space and invading into Quentin-Brianna time was somewhat irking Brianna. She wondered if she is jealous.

"Bri?", Quentin's voice pulled Brianna out of her thoughts about Kendra.

"Hmm?"

"Can you do one thing for me?", Quentin asked reluctantly.

"What?"

"Can you unblock my number? There might be a time when I need to call or text you."

"OK." Brianna responded in a small voice and two seconds later, she added: "Sorry about blocking you."

Quentin didn't respond. It is normal to say that it's OK like a sign of forgiveness, but it's not OK. He is upset that Brianna blocked him when the only thing he wanted was to talk to her with an opportunity to explain himself and maybe get a chance for a second date which will fix the horrible impression the first one left. But he decided not to voice his thoughts because it will spoil the mood.

Quentin buried his face in her hair and took a few deep breaths. He reminded himself to stay focused on the present because right now his fiery Goddess is in his arms, in his bed and they are dating!

And they were back to silence.

Brianna yawned. She barely got any rest last night, and now after their intense activity, she is exhausted.

"Why don't you sleep?", Quentin asked.

Brianna refused. "Last two times I slept off and when I woke up you were not there."

"If I didn't leave, you would chase me away.", Quentin said without missing a beat.

Brianna didn't deny this, because it's the truth. If he stayed behind and clung onto her while talking about relationship nonsense, she would chase him away. But... "Now it's different."

Quentin smiled. This was an acknowledgment that they are dating! "Are you afraid that I will leave?"

Brianna was not sure how to respond. Is she afraid? Of course, she is afraid! For the first time, she exposed herself to the potential heartbreak and she is not sure how to cope with all this. But there is no way she will admit it, not fully at least.

"Probably."

Quentin chuckled. "This is my apartment. Even if I leave, I will be back."

Brianna turned to face him. "This between us is something new which I am still not sure how to handle. Don't make fun of me."

Quentin did his best to keep his poker face on. Why does she think that he is making fun of her? If he could, he would tear his heart out and open it up so that she can see that her name is etched in there. And it's only her name, without any competition because she is his fiery Goddess.

This is the first time for Quentin to feel anything like this and he is nervous to the point of his insides trembling. She is the first girl who slept in his apartment, and the first girl in his bed, and the first one who made him chase after her across the United States, and first one in so many ways because this is the first time he fell for a woman completely.

But he can't tell her all that, because it will probably scare her away. She is a fierce woman with a sharp mind and an amazing body and spunk and everything he ever imagined a perfect woman should be (and more than that), but for some reason, she is like a scared rabbit in front of him and he is not sure how he should take that, but he knows that he does not want her to leave (again).

Quentin looked at her seriously. "I am not making fun of you. If it makes you feel any better, all this is new for me as well. The difference between us is that your instinct is to run away from the things which are new while I am willing to explore them."

Brianna wanted to retort but she didn't know what to say because what he said is correct. Since they met and she realized that she has feelings for him, she is running away from those feelings and from Quentin as well. But this… the two of them in the bed, holding each other… feels nice.

Brianna yawned again and relaxed. "Don't leave while I'm sleeping."

'I will never leave you…', Quentin kissed her forehead and responded: "OK"

He smiled at the sight of her sleeping face. The fact that she slept off within a minute, told him that she was tired, and she didn't get any rest last night, just how he didn't.

Quentin was disappointed that two minutes later, she turned away from him.

He propped himself on his elbow and observed her fiery red hair spread loosely over the gray satin pillowcase, and her white body providing an amazing color contrast. And this visual treat is for him to enjoy, in his own bedroom.

Quentin pulled the satin cover over them and cradled Brianna in his arms, happy that she snuggled closer to him.

He took in a deep breath, inhaling the scent of her shampoo, and a minute later, he slept off as well.
