Absolute Buying System: Money Is Power

Sometimes Xue Bao hated himself for being smart, he hated himself for not being one of those dumb delinquents despite looking like one. Quite a few times he accurately guessed the cause of his troubles but powerless to do anything about it, he hated that exact feeling. The situation was exactly like that; when he felt that something was following him, he guessed that it was some kind of wild predator. Now that he looked back, his guess was confirmed.

It was indeed a wild animal, a weird looking cheetah. That thing was huge, bigger than cheetah he had ever seen be it TV or in zoos. There were also some metallic protrusions coming out of its back looking quite intimidating.

"Fuck!! Why am I so unfortunate? The first thing I encounter in an unfamiliar place was the last boss!" Xue Bao was very indignant. He felt like fighting a world boss solo the moment he logged in to the game. He felt cheated. But this was no game where once you die you will revive. It was the reality, and if you die, you die.

So how to face such a situation? One word, run.

And run he did. With everything he got, Xue Bao ran. Not caring about terrain, not caring about the low visibility, he ran. Without looking back, he ran. He knew the beast was on his back, chasing him quietly. Creatures like these love to chase their preys, they love to hunt their victims who would struggle for their survival rather than surrender.

Although in normal times he would have refrained from becoming someone's entertainment, right now there was no shame in doing that. his life was on the stake here. Who cares about some measly pride? Saving life comes first.

As an athletic boy, Xue Bao had excellent stamina. And due to various fights he had involved with, he was veteran in running when the situation goes south. He was experienced in how to ditch the pursuer, although this time his pursuer wasn't a human or a rival gang holding pipes and bats, he still applied the same technique hoping that it would buy him some time to think about a solution to this predicament. Wracking his brain, he tried to think off ways on how to deal with this situation.

Afraid to look back, he didn't know exactly how far was the creature from him, but he was sure that it was still following him. As such he continued running.

He didn't know how far he ran or how long he was running, but he was feeling tired. His legs muscles were burning so were his lungs. He had already depilated his stamina, now he was only running on fumes. But he didn't dare to stop, he knew the moment he stops, he will die and become food.

But it seems fate had deemed that he had lived enough as suddenly the road in front of him vanished and a cliff appeared.

"Fuck!" he cursed once again. There was a dead end to his front. Xue Bao came to a screeching halt just a few meters away from the cliff. Taking a deep breath, he grabbed his metal bat tightly and turned around.

He saw no cheetah, but he knew that shitty cat was lurking in the bushes, waiting for him to lower his guard. Gritting his teeth, Xue Bao could only glare at the bushes as he wished for some miracle to happen. Bur miracles weren't cabbages grows on the side of the road, and neither was he a protagonist of some novel with plot armour. Just now he had a glimpse at the cliff, and he found it was to be bottomless. Going any further means certain death.

Now Xue Bao found himself in a bind, he could neither proceed forward nor retreats backwards. Death was imminent. Thinking such, Xue Bao became completely calm. He was smart, his brilliant mind had already deducted that his survival rate was zero. If so then why struggle? If he was going to die anyway, why not die fighting? He was no stranger to pain after all.

"Come out you fucker! Come to this daddy. You think I am afraid of you? This Xue Bao isn't scared of anyone, not even death. Who do you think you are, you damn cat!?" Xue Bao started to shout loudly as he taunted the animal.

He heard no reply, not even a growl. This animal was really too intelligent, but he didn't give up and continued to shout.

"What? Are you afraid now, you scaredy cat? Of course you should be, after all, you are facing this mighty Xue Bao. Hah! You should go back and suck on your mom's milk, you pussy." It seems the mighty Xue Bao had forgotten that a few minutes earlier he was running like a scaredy cat himself.

ROAR**

Finally, unable to endure Xue Bao's taunts the animal roared angrily. The roar was thunderous, surpassing his voice just now. After that, the bushes in his front rustled and the yellow spotted cheetah came out of it while making an elegant leap. Its red eyes glared at Xue Bao as if it wanted to kill it just by looking.

Seeing its look, Xue Bao realized he wasn't facing a normal animal. This one could almost understand human speech for some reason. Seeing its majestic appearance, Xue Bao trembled a little but recomposed himself quickly. Gripping the metal bat tightly, he narrowed his eyes and slowly stepped backwards. Of course, it was not to jump off the cliff, he wanted he would have done it earlier.

Looking at this animal, which was red in anger, had given him a brilliant idea that can help him kill this damn creature. Although the success rate of the plan was below 30%, as long as it wasn't zero, he has to try.

But even so, this animal was really very intimidating. Not only it was bigger than an average cheetah, but it also looked stronger than one. Xue Bao estimated its fighting strength could probably rival some of the rare tigers in the world. Coupled with that metallic protrusion on its back, he estimated it to be enough to kill a lion or two. But where did this animal come from, and why did he never seen it on TV or newspaper?

The animal roared again as if threatening Xue Bao. But Xue Bao who was determined to die just a few seconds ago, it did nothing more than mild discomfort due to loud noise. Now he was very calm while facing the animal. He understood the worst case scenario was for him to die so why be afraid? As such he was able to use his brain to its maximum and came up with a strategy that could probably kill this animal.

"Huh! What are you growling at, huh? Do you think your growls scares me? It doesn't." Xue Bao continued to taunt it. Finally, at some point in time, the cheetah lost its patience and leapt towards Xue Bao's neck, intending to bite him to death.

As if waiting for that moment, the instant it was a near him, Xue Bao moved.

"Go Die you fucker!" with a loud shout, he swung his metal bat with everything he had and aimed it to the neck region of the animal.

The cheetah hadn't expected for Xue Bao to struggle at the last moment, neither had it expected that struggle to succeed and land a heavy blow to it.

The metal bat landed near the ear of the cheetah, as blood spurted out from its ears. It gave out a whimper as its head burst opened form that one strike. Unable to control its trajectory, the cheetah 'flew' unobstructed off the cliff.

It died before even falling off the cliff.
