Ablackwing

Chapter 28 - Stolen Kisses

The first thing I saw as I opened my eyes was the most beautiful shade of red I had ever seen. The red colour was deep like... I don't think that I can compare that colour with any colour of our world. It looked like it had come from some other world. Then I saw the necklace hung in my neck. The tear-shaped, red coloured gem was hanging down in the center. That gem looked as if it had liquid blood inside it, alive and moving. It looked like it was made of a diamond because of its shine but I have never heard of such red coloured diamond. It must be some other gemstone.

The chains supporting looked like they were made of platinum like material. The chain had three wire-like loops, arranged in a spiral and it was attached to gem from behind, glued to it somehow. In addition, there were three sets of three leaflets on each side of the chain, in ascending size with the biggest leaflet at the bottom. Those silvery leaflets were made of the same material as that of the chain. It simply looked breathtaking.

"So did you like it?" Black asked while looking right at my eyes through the mirror.

"I absolutely love it..." I didn't know any word that could describe what I felt. I wanted to praise it but just words weren't enough for that beautiful masterpiece.

"That was all I could think of giving you in return of your awesome gifts."

"What are you talking about?" I absolutely had no idea what was the awesome thing that I gave him.

"This sweater and this scarf of course."

I was surprised when I realize I was the one who gifted him that scarf. But the astonishing thing was that he called those awesome. Was he kidding? Or was he blind!? Both of them were like normal clothes! At least that sweater was. There was nothing special about it. It didn't have any design, the cloth was soft but much softer were available out there. And he gave me that beautiful necklace in return. Didn't he realize the worth? That necklace was priceless. Perhaps no one in this world could buy it with any amount of money.

I was not sure before but at that moment, I confirmed that this angel was dumb.

"Thank you," I said turning around to look at him. Even though he was dumb, I appreciated his efforts a lot. After all, he had traded that necklace with pain. The redness of his back was still fresh in my mind. He accepted pain just for me. His actions were so heartwarming.

"You yourself said that there is no need for thanks between friends. You take them for granted." I didn't know what to say. I felt like a predator when I used those words on him before. But he used my own trap to get me.

He smiled. His smile and his eyes were equally captivating as that necklace, if not more. There was some unknown force pulling me towards him. I stood up on my toes so that our eyes were at the same level. He grabbed my waist so as to provide me with support. He was standing without blinking as if he was a deer caught in the headlights.

I moved my head closer to his and pressed my lips against his. He didn't respond, just like our first time. I dug again and he finally tilted his head while embraced my face gently with his hand. He attacked me like a ferocious beast claiming his prey. We started to go wild. Neither of us was hesitating. It was as if we were long lost lovers that finally meet after being apart for years.

I remembered our first kiss. That was soft and sweet. But this one, it was intense. I was even experimenting, biting his lower lip at times and even his tongue just like I had seen in movies. He was a noob like me in kissing and he tried to copy me. It felt like we were fighting with each other, going all out, smacking our lips, at times tongue too. It felt like war and we were clashing our sword like tongues. Each hit was filled with such passion. It felt so... Good...

To kiss someone is so beautiful, isn't it? You're defenceless and you let your guard down while the other one claims you. It's like you express your love without saying anything or to be precise without needing to say anything. Your lips and tongues move as if they are dancing on music that is sometimes soft and sometimes fast. You understand each other and you feel connected with each other in some unexplainable manner. And it feels really good.

I slowed down a little to catch my breath. He instantly understood that I needed to breathe and retreated to small pecks on my lips. We were soon standing with our foreheads touching. I was breathless and he seemed he could go on for forever. I didn't have as much stamina as he had. I realized that my heart was beating faster than any train. Someday, he was going to give me a heart attack.

When I moved back, I found him giggling a little. We were directly looking at each other's eyes. I felt so embarrassed and shy that I wanted to bury my head inside the ground like an ostrich does when it gets afraid. But I just kept looking. My mind began to think of some excuse, some explanation.

"Two to zero," I said.

"Huh?"

"There's a game... Stolen kisses..." I had read about that game in a story on the Internet. That game popped up in my mind.

"I've no idea what you're talking about."

"Well, the rules say that if you kiss someone when they least expect it, you get a point. If you collect three points, you win."

"That's so not fair," Black grumbled, all dissatisfied.

"And the best part, the loser has to do anything the winner says. Anything means anythi..." Black stopped me from speaking further by pressing his lips against mine. His hand was on the back of my head preventing me from escaping the lion's den. Before I knew, we were in again for a long passionate kiss.

"Two to one now," He said after he withdrew. I couldn't deny his claim. I was too busy explaining the rules to him that I really let my guard down. He took advantage. My Black was a very dangerous guy.

I just stood there, surprised by his sudden attack, looking right in his deep forest green eyes. I turned around again, running away again from his gaze because of shyness.

That red colour of diamond flashed again in the mirror.

"I haven't seen such beautiful gem in my life," I told him.

"Well aside from Fairies or Isla, only we two have seen this Scarlett Red colour. It's one of the seven mythical colours in all of the worlds."

"Fairies? Isla?"

"I'll tell you over breakfast. You haven't had breakfast yet, have you?"

"Nope." I wouldn't say a sip of almond milk as breakfast.

"I'll prepare it in fifteen minutes," Black said and walked towards the door.

"I'll fix the room and join you soon."

"By the way... Well, nevermind."

* * * * *

"So when do I get to hear about the adventures of The Great Angel Black?" I asked. Black was adding something in something. I couldn't see what he was doing because he was standing facing the other side. I straight went downstairs after I was done fixing my room. I wouldn't lie. I stared at that necklace for more than a while. That necklace was perfect besides the fact that it had no hook. So every time I needed to take it out, I was going to mess up my hair. Perhaps it was intentional on his part to make such a necklace. Or perhaps he didn't know.

Black appeared as if he was done preparing breakfast and he was just giving the food some final touches. Soon enough, he turned around with a cup in his right hand and plate containing toast in other.

"Ablackwing at your service with a toast and coffee," Black said in a very professional manner and handed me the cup. He the plate on the table and moved back to get his own cup.

The coffee had a strong smell with very hot frothy milk. It tasted good, out of the world level good. "How do you cook so well?" I asked.

"Well, I had to cook for myself or either eat out."

"And the food out was bad."

"Actually... I don't like people much... So I learnt how to cook myself." Black said as brought in his own mug and sat to opposite chair.

"Teach me how to cook sometime. I unconsciously do some magic and awful taste appears out of everything when I cook."

He laughed, almost spilling his coffee, "Sure." I couldn't reply because I had that cheesy toast in my mouth. We ate in silence.

"Sorry I don't actually have any idea about how to keep the conversation going on. I haven't... conversed much in my life." Black spoke feeling the awkward silence but it never felt awkward to me. He speaks less but I was fine with him being near me even if he does not say anything. He tries so hard all the time and I can't help but find his actions sweet.

I quickly gulped in the bolus and spoke up in a manner that seniors speak to their juniors, "No worry. Your angel Eve is here to your rescue. I'll teach you everything."

"Thanks, Angie."

Angie? Ha. Such a sweet way of pronouncing angel.

"Where's the story you promised a few minutes ago?"

"I almost forgot about that."

"Telllll meeee!" I exclaimed in a very kid-like manner.

"So I was up last night, thinking of something that could be worth all the kindness you've shown me. After all, you gave me such amazing gifts and I didn't give you anything in return."

"I did what I should and they aren't amazing at all."

"It was morning when I remembered about the mythical most beautiful colours of the world." Black continued, completely ignoring my statement as if he didn't hear me. "I thought of getting you one of them and so I flew to Isla."

"What's Isla?"

"I was coming to that." That idiot was hearing me well. He really ignored me before.

"Isla is like another world. There are many different worlds where many other beings exist. Eden, Gaia, Isla, Lyra, Isis, Aura and many more. Isla is the world of Fairies."

"Fairies!?" I exclaimed.

"Yeah Fairies. Those little beings with butterfly-like wings. They're small and cute... not as cute as you though." Black said as if he was giving me an excuse for saying others cute. This time I ignored his compliment. That's what he gets for ignoring me.

Black continued. That was the best decision he could make at that time because I didn't like being held up on stories. "When I got to Isla, I instantly grabbed one of them and frightened him to tell me where I could find The Faith."

"I have heard stories of a meteor falling on Isla and fairies have proclaimed it as the most beautiful red coloured gemstone. On the coming of age ceremony, only the fairies could see that gemstone and pray to the Faith. So I had to force that guy to tell. That guy didn't know where the Faith was. But he at least told me where I could find their queen.

The queen fairy, however, wasn't as dumb as that guy. She had heard of the dangerous black winged angel. So I didn't have to do much to frighten her. She told me where I could find the Faith on the condition that I will not steal, damage or even touch the Faith. I guess being scary is advantageous sometimes." That poor queen fairy. If she knew the real Black, she could have extorted him a lot.

"The queen fairy herself led me. We actually had to go through the cave behind a waterfall. The queen did not follow me after showing me the way and I walked into that cave alone. After about ten minutes that long cave opened out to a beautiful valley. I looked around and realized that the valley was just inside of a giant crater. The fairies had crafted the middle area beautifully with white stone and statues. Those white statues represented the guardian fairies and they were all at periphery looking at the center, at The Faith. The hilarious thing was that those statues were almost thirty meters in height. Those halflings had portrayed themselves as giants."

"At center was a much smaller and realistic fairy with both hands joint and raised towards the sky. It appeared she was catching the beautiful thing that fell from the sky. But that little fairy was actually thanking the heaven for bestowing this gift to them or so the stories say. In her hands was the scarlet red spherical gemstone, Faith. They believe that nothing bad will happen upon the fairies as long as they have Faith." Black curled his fingers a little to show me how big that gem was. It looked like the size of a tennis ball.

"You stole something that special for me?" I said looking towards the necklace. He had gone to such lengths for me. He even broke the promise he made to the queen fairy. His actions must have made him the enemy of every fairy out there. But instead of being angry at his action, I felt so special at that moment.

"I didn't steal it. If I had, fairies would have started to hunt along with demons. Those halflings don't have any fighting capabilities but it would be such a pain to be constantly pestered by them." Black explained.

"Then how?"

"I needed to see it and feel it to create it. I've to fulfill two conditions if I want to create something." Black replied. I had almost forgotten of his godlike ability of creation. He made it so beautiful all by himself. My angel was really creative. "I decided upon the basic design on my way back though most of it fell in place on its own when I touched you."

"Why were you touching me? You could have made it in thin air." I enquired. That was something on my mind I wanted to know. I wasn't mad or anything. I was just curious.

"Various reasons."

"I'm all ears."

"I never made a necklace before, just seen it, so I didn't know how it should be. Second I wanted to embed it with force summon so I needed some support. And third..."

"What is a force summon?" There were so many terms that I didn't understand when he speaks to me. He fills me with so many endless questions.

"If you're in some danger or anything, and I'm not there. Break the chain of the necklace. I'll be summoned near you no matter where I am."

"I'm never gonna break it. Never!" It was special to me. Because someone special to me gave it to me as a gift. Because someone special to me went so such lengths to deliver it to me. Because someone special to me crafted it himself. And you don't break special things.

"I guess I've to make something more convenient to break." Black didn't ask me why I denied breaking that necklace. He just accepted it instead of being stubborn like usual.

"What was that third reason?"

"Third is that I wanted to see that expression of fear and embarrassment on your face. It was so damn cute." Black snickered.

"You're such a... pervert..."
