A Twilight Promise

Evening, Ryujii and Yuuki met up at the staircase. This time, they are heading out.

They talked about their past, and their insecurities. They seem inseparable, even though they've just met. Fate sure bounds people together.

At last, they reached the bridge. The sunset dyed the sky orange in colour, as well as the water reflected the colours of the sky, people passes by are all in a rush, they had no time to stop by for such a breathtaking view.

The Sun sets. The sky became darker and darker over time - the twilight is now happening. Streetlights start to light up the streets, people are still passing by in their busy routines. Some are grown-ups rushing home for dinner, some might be still working, and some students are saying goodbyes after a hangout, etcetera, etcetera...

Life as normal as such wouldn't exist for both Ryujii and Yuuki, they don't have much time left. Since they don't have much time, Ryujii said that they should live without regrets. In which she, too agreed.

The view was too breathtaking. And suddenly, a camera clicked. Behind them, a lady holds her camera and winks at them. Ryujii noticed her and gave a slight bow. She approached them and introduces herself.

"My name is Fumi Hiragi, a college student first year and also a member of the photography club, nice to meet you." Fumi said with a cheerful tone. Ryujii is being wary with Fumi, and Yuuki broke the one second silence with her introduction.

"My name is Yuuki Harumiya, and here is Ryujii, nice to meet you!" The two chuckled and exchanged their contact info, while Ryujii is thinking about the photo she took.

"You, Hiragi right? About the picture you just took. May I have a look?" Ryujii asked with a serious look on his face. This face in fact, scared Fumi out. "Eep! A delinquent! Yuuki-chan this guy is scary!" Fumi said while hugging Yuuki. Ryujii is jealous.

"Ah, Ryujii, don't scare people like that!" Yuuki gives him a light punch. "A-ah, sorry..." Ryujii said. "Pfft... Haha... Both of you are a great couple together! Best match I'd say." Fumi said while laughing out loud. Accompanied by her laughter, the two looked away with their face all red.

"A-Actually... We are not that far yet..." Yuuki said with an embarrassed tone. While Ryujii although smiling, he said something else. "You're wrong! We're just friends!" As Fumi laughed, they laughed as well.

"Oh crap! We have to make it back now Yuuki, let's go!" Ryujii said as he noticed the time. They started running and Fumi waved to them. "Hey, can we meet here tomorrow evening as well? I have something to give you!" She shouted at them. Yuuki smiled and nodded. "Then it's a promise! See you tomorrow!"

Fumi stayed on the bridge, putting her hands out to form a frame, she looked to the sky, and took a big breath. "Huwahhh! What a great view..." She took out a camera and took a photo, and she left.

On the way back from the bridge, Yuuki seems to be relieved from her worries. And turns to Ryujii. "Hey, Ryujii-kun, I never thought that the twilight looks even better from that bridge, how do you know that?" Yuuki asked.

"I just happened to saw it from there days before I was admitted to the hospital, so I'm glad you like it." Ryujii said with a slight red cheek. Yuuki stopped and kissed his cheeks. She then runs off. Ryujii is dumbfounded.

The two went back, seeing the hospital staff looking for them. The two are scolded by the nurses and Dr. Hiro. Yuuki is then forbidden to leave her room. Ryujii sent his contact address to Yuuki in a note, and they started a chat through their phones.

"I really want to see Fumi-chan tomorrow... But I can't leave my room. Can you tell her that I'm sorry?" Yuuki sent a message to Ryujii.

"Ah... I'll do something to help you out tomorrow, so don't worry, we'll be sure to look at the twilight there again tomorrow!" Ryujii replied.

"So it's a promise, right?" Yuuki sent with her blushing all over her face. "Yeah, a promise! A man will not back his words at all costs! Hahaha" Right after Ryujii hit the send button, he accidentally tapped the video call button.

"Gyaah! Oh how do I turn this off? Yuuki? Why are you there? And your face is red, did someone punched you? Hey!" Ryujii made all sorts of reactions that cracked a smile to Yuuki.

"Pfft... Teehee... Stupid Ryujii, good night." Yuuki said her good night to Ryujii through the video call. Ryujii paused for a while after the call hung up. "So... So cuute...!" Ryujii is almost drown in her cuteness.

Another day passed, with a little tears but also with gallons of smile and laughter. Youth is already happening for them. Whether they noticed it or not, it has already begun, without warning until the moment it ends.

"It was this time, where I had woven a little promise with her. Whether she is here or not, I'll still fulfill the said promise myself, so that the memories with her will always exist within me..."
