A Twilight Promise

Yuuki walked through the hallway at night, when the visiting hours in the hospital is over, lights will be out, and there's time for a little adventure.

A nurse passed by, she quickly opened a ward door and hid in it, footsteps of the nurse passed and stopped, presumably entered a ward, but she hears another person. Another nurse, started a conversation with the nurse.

"That ward 3009 patient was sent in this afternoon..."

"What's wrong?"

"Maybe he's attacked?"

"My younger brother attended that school, he told me about a delinquent, Ryujii, the hateful delinquent, if I remembered well."

"Huh, hopefully he will learn his lesson not to pick fights anymore huh."

"Ah, look at the time, we shall turn off the lights now."

"Ah yes..."

The lights turned off, Yuuki sneaked out and looked for the ward the nurses mentioned.

"3006, 3007, 3008... Aha! 3009!" She thought. She opened the door and saw a guy lying on the bed. "So, the hateful delinquent huh?" She thought, she sneaked close to him. In this distance, she can obviously observe his expressions. He looked like he's suffering.

"...lp ...e... Help... Me..." He grumbled. She can see tears flowing from his eyes.

"Guess he's not a bad guy though..." Yuuki thought. She closes in and checked his nametag, Ri-Yu-Ji-I is written there. She goes to his ears and whispered.

"Hey! Ri-Yu-Ji-I-kun, calm down, if you wake up, let's look at the twilight together!" His expression eased. She gasped and thought he woke up, she hurried back to her own ward afterwards.

She sat on her bed, and sighed. "I wonder how will tomorrow's twilight will be?" She thought, and slept through the night filled with expectations.

2 years ago...

Yuuki with her mother, and a doctor in an examination room. The doctor said something that Yuuki couldn't understand that time, but she more or less knew that, she doesn't have much time left. She is advised to be staying in the hospital to stabilize the illness, but she refused.

"If I don't have any time left, I want to live my life as a normal girl, so please..." The 13 years old Yuuki said. The other two were reluctant, but soon gave in. She had to take good care of her body, and that is what she agreed to do.

Fall of her 15th year, her condition worsened, she had no choice but to stay in the hospital for observations. An innocent smile of hers, how much pain that she endured to make that smile lovely and cute?

Morning, Ryujii wake up on his bed. His head hurts, ah yes, he was hit on the head. When he regain his senses, he can hear running footsteps from the hallway, he stood up and walked to the door, he still can't properly move his leg freely, so he is slow, and wobbly.

As he reached the door, the door slides open, a girl rushes in, BAM! Both Ryujii and the girl fall to the floor.

"Owie... Sorry for barging in! I just want to check on you... And wow, you just woke up! I never knew whispering to someone's ear can work like a charm." She exclaimed. The clueless Ryujii asked her a question. "So you are not a god huh?" In which she nodded.

"My name is Yuuki, I'm a first year student from Hokutosei High School, nice to meet you!" She introduced herself. He stood up and pushes her out from his room and slide shut the door.

"Wait, you promised me to look at the twilight together right?" She knocked on the door and saying it multiple times until he opens the door again. He shows a scary expression to which even Yuuki is scared.

"Ryujii, a second year from the same school as yours. I don't remember looking at twilights with you. But I'll go so leave me alone." After saying that, he closed the door again.

"S-So! We'll meet at the rooftop in the evening okay!" Yuuki is excited and heads back to her room.

"Ryujii, the hateful delinquent huh? He didn't look like that to me though..." Yuuki thinks as she walks.

"Yuuki, the hottie from that school huh? Why is she here with that patient outfit? Is she sick or something? Argh... Why am I thinking about her now?" Ryujii thinks as he sits on his bed.
