A Letter from Mr. Grim

Chapter 4:Smitten

Pauline stared blankly at the box. She was seated on her bed and the box of chocolate was in the middle. Reluctantly, she reached the cover of the box and opened it. She saw a fourteen small chocolates molded in a heart shaped. Somehow, she felt warmed at his gesture. She picked one heart chocolate and tossed it to her mouth. Pauline didn't like chocolates but for the first time, she began to like it when she savored the taste of the chocolate he gave her. She smiled and closed her eyes.

You're right, Mr. Grim. It's sweet and I felt like flying.

She slowly laid her back to the pillow and in minutes, she slept with a smile on her face.

Pauline was working overtime together with her subordinates. They were busy on how they would disburse a large amount of money for the debut album of Honey Bee, another girl group of LV Entertainment to be released a month from now and of course, the most awaiting album release of ASUS. She looked at the clock and it was almost eight o' clock in the evening. She clapped her hands to call her team's attention.

"Okay, let's call it a night. We can still continue this tomorrow. Thank you for your cooperation. You can go now," she said, dismissing them.

All of them mouthed her thanks and went through. Now, she was alone to her department and she walked back to her office to get her things. When she was done switching the lights off to her office, she immediately made her way to the hallway. She bid a goodbye to the guard and walked through the elevator. When the elevator finally closed, she frowned as she saw a paper glued on the elevator doors with her name imprinted on it. She gulped. Was this him again?

She got the paper and opened it. She quietly read the letter.

Dear My Cherie,

I know you're tired.

When you finally arrive at the lobby,

There's a surprise for you to help you relax and unwind a bit

Enjoy!

Worried,

Mr. Grim

When Pauline heard the bell, she hastily went to the lobby and stopped. She saw a well-prepared table with her favorite dishes, kimchi, egg soup and pork skin with lettuce.

"How..."

She slowly sat the chair and got the utensils on the table. She slowly scooped the egg soup to her mouth and savored it. It was very delicious. Ten minutes later, she was done eating. She frowned as she scanned the area, there were no people besides her were around. She couldn't help but be suspicious. Was he planning to con me?

Dear Miss Pauline,

Did you enjoy my surprise? I hope so.

You were pretty beat up this day so I decided to cook a nice dinner for you.

Was it delicious, my Cherie?

I will always prepare something special just for you.

That's how smitten I am to you. ;)

Smitten,

Mr. Grim

Pauline chuckled. How on earth would she do now with Mr. Grim? He made her felt like a school girl that made her giddy inside.

Damn you, Mr. Grim.

Her phone buzzed and swiped the screen to see the upcoming message. When she read the text, her eyes widened.

Gotcha, I made you smile. :)

She stood up and searched the place. Pauline knew he was watching her. She stopped and looked on her phone. She immediately pressed the number phone he used and put it to her ear. Her heart was thumping so hard that it could hurt.

"The number you have dialed is either unattended or out of coverage area. Please try your call later."

"Damn you!" she exclaimed.
