An hour later, Xiao Yu had eventually completed the task of collecting the adder's tongues. In addition to the two items he had gotten, he had also gained a lot of experience points. "Water will choke a person who is drinking it if they are down on luck! But I still have to try everything I've got." Taking advantage of the hesitation of these lost spirits, Xiao Yu darted outside the valley along the path as quickly as his legs could carry him. The pursuing lost spirit slowed down a little and blocked the other pursuing monsters behind it. This offered an opportunity for Xiao Yu to escape.

He didn't linger around after he struck that monster. He ran away with all his might. He could run at a fairly fast pace because of his high abilities. He disappeared from the scene in the blink of an eye.

He ran a long distance and then spun his head around. He let out a long exhale when he found that the lost spirits were not catching up to him. The lost spirits went back to their original site after they chased him for a while and lost him.

"It's my fate to survive, I guess. Otherwise, I would have been finished."

Xiao Yu checked his health and found it stood at 13%, meaning he could still withstand one more attack. He had been prepared for the consequences. "Yes," replied Xiao Yu. He was more interested in what reward he would get at the moment.

"You surprised me. As of today, 17 thieves received that task from me; but all of them opted to give it up. You're the only one who has come back after completing the task," said the Thief Teacher Ode appreciatively.

Thief Teacher Ode showed no intention of giving him the reward right away, even though Xiao Yu was very anxious to find out.

"Now that you have accomplished the first task, you're qualified to carry out the next one. The next task requires level-6 stealth travel and for you to be level 15 in general. When you come to me by that time, I'll tell you the contents of the task," said Thief Teacher Ode lightly.

Xiao Yu almost had a nervous breakdown, saying, "Will… I get a reward after completing this next task?"

"Oh," exclaimed the Thief Teacher Ode after patting on his forehead, "I almost forgot about that."
