A daughter's revenge

After hearing that,the people outside the carriage could see the curtains of the carriage's window were pulled to a side and an extremely beautiful,elegant face of a lady appeared there.Her long beautiful eyes were piercing through the crowd and stopped at the pitiful looking girl who was dragged away by a group of people.She thought for a moment and gave some orders to one of her servents.

He reached the passing crowd and gave his lady's order to those group of people. That order made them surprised yet they didn't dare to ignore it when they get to know the identity of that lady.She was Lady Jiang Lin,the wife of General Jiang Lin,a well-known general throughout the entire Qing empire.

They came infront of the carriage with the girl.Then the lady asked them the reason for dragging away the girl by force.

"Answering my lady, she is our master's would-be-wife .We were escorting herto our master's house" the head servant of the debtor replied.

It was obvious that they were not just escorting the girl looking at the girl's face and servants' behaviour yet it was a personal matter of someone.Therefore Lady Jiang Lin couldn't interfere with it harshly .Still she decided to ask the girl too.

"Is this true girl?then why did you make a commotion here?"she asked from Zhu Li.

Zhu Li looked at the lady slightly.She knew that if she get a slightest chance of escaping these people,it would be this time.So she decided to tell the whole truth.She knelt infront of the lady and started telling her story.

"My lady,I'm the eldest daughter of my family.My father is a farmer.He took a loan once because our crops were destroyed due to drought.But he couldn't pay off the debt on time because our crops were unsuccessful again and again.Therefore according to the law,our debtor came to take our family members as slaves."Zhu Li continued .The lady was listening attentively .

"But after knowing that I'm reaching marriageble age next year,he gave us an offer.If I agree to be his bride,he wouldn'tmake my family members slaves.My father didn't like the idea at all.But my younger siblings are really young.I didn't want them to be slaves when I could prevent it.So I agreed to the offer .But..but..I...."she couldn't continue.Tears were rolling down her eyes.She stopped talking.

After listening to her side of story,Lady Jiang Lin understood that this is not something she should interfere with.

According to the law of Qing empire,people who commited or helped treasons but didn't get killed,people who didn't pay loans and children of the slaves become slaves.In this case,there was no any violation of rules.

Still Lady Jiang Lin feltpity about the girl infront of her.She couldn't imagine why she felt so.Therefore finally she decided to summon the debtor using her power.

When the creditor arrived there,when she saw how greedily he is looking at Zhu Li,she understood why the girl fled from him.Therefore she decided to help the girl although she had no any specialuse of doing so.She paid of the debt and take the slave documents from him.Then she made Zhu Li one of her female servant .

From then onwards ,Zhu Li was thankful to Lady Jiang Lin immensely for her kindness.She dedicated her life to serve the Lady.She was able to pay off her debt from the salary she got for working five years at the Jiang Lin manor.After that also she continued working there until she witnessed the tragic death of her Lady.
